MrMeanGreen
I used to do it in the military as well, and still do it on a weekly basis for work. I told Alex I'd do it for free

MrMeanGreen
Radio Shack has all but stopped selling individual components. Not to mention, I went to buy an IC chip puller a few months ago and they no longer sell them, in stores or online.

Alex L.
If I can get them somewhere locally, that would be the best case scenario. I heard that Edge Electronic Supply Company might have what I'm looking for. Any suggestions for somewhere locally?
Akula
Jameco has whatever you need. I can work on it if you still need someone. Radioshack has a few components but they tell you to order stuff online.

spankis
My grandparents sony hdtv shit the bed last week, and the standby light flashes 7 times, indicating a failure of the 2 IC's on the "d-board". I looked into it, and it looks simple enough to get to, but I'm not confident in myself on something like this. I've soldered mod chips into xboxes before, but this is worth a bit more... The Stereo Lab Service place no longer works on video, so are there any other reputable shops around? Here's what I'm dealing with, I already ordered the parts: http://i180.photobucket.com/albums/x33/spankis/2009October129a.jpg http://i180.photobucket.com/albums/x33/spankis/2009October140a.jpg
Billiumss
Those are a piece of cake to remove and solder back in. Those are standard DIP chips, very easy. I can do it for ya, I'm IPC certified. http://www.ipc.org/ContentPage.aspx?pageid=J-STD-
