Help should i buy a 2002 z-28

SRT-4 8U

Recommended Posts

i've always been a mustang fan and big ford guy, and was looking to buy a 96-98 cobra this summer, and now i am tempted to go to the dark side because a guy i work with has a 2002 35th annv. z-28 white, 6 speed and slp ehaust. it has 68,000 miles and is a 8.5-9 out of 10. he's wife wants it gone for something more family. he told me $7,000 to $8,000 and im thinking that i can't pass that up.

I still have my hole nitrous set-up, so im thinking a cam, and few mods, and a nice shot it should run pretty good.

So is that a good deal and is it worth getting a z-28 or will i regret turning to the dark side?

Thanks for any help and info

very good deal. You wont get much insight from switching because 90% of the members here belong to 1 of the respective camps. 1/2 will say mustang, 1/2 will say LSX.

However I don't think either will argue that is a good deal on the car.

I say 100% go for it.

Yeah, that seems like a really good price for that car. Almost too good.

Is he the original owner?

Does he have all maintenance records?

Ever been involved in an accident?

Carfax?

Do your homework before you buy.

Yea he is original owner

not sure

no from what he says

i could get one

i've worked with him for a few months and he is 40yrs old, and drives it normal

The only thing is it has the fatory body kit wing, front bumper, and side skirts so i don't think it looks as good as a plane z-28 or ss

rs body kit, that last year are 35th ..

does it have the strips that turn into checked flags?

definately not as badass as a gti

A red line under the word means you spelled it wrong, which requires a right click. You then select the correct spelling. Pretty easy actually. Easy enough for a bumble fuck Domestic car owner to figure out.

No degree or German car is necessary, though both make you instantly more awesome.

hahaha

When you present your opinion as a fact you may eventually think your opinion is factual. When you take offense to an opinion its can be seen as a sign of weakness and/or insecurity. If you can differentiate between fact and opinion you are more likely to have a clear outlook on the topic thus offering better support and information to those involved. I have no clue why I'm typing this but your ass just read it.. I know that you read it because you just read the words before this indicating that you did in fact read it.

Its a good car if you are looking for a fun sports car. Once you start modding it try to stay below 350-375whp(unless you are a serious about modding it). What I have seen from a lot of the lsx boys is it turns into a money pit of fixing broke factory parts.. That or you run times so close to the next level that you will want it to go "just a little bit faster". Based on the 96-98 vs 02, and price I would go with the camaro. Not my favorite body style on an LS1 car, but a performer none the less. I've seen some fast cobras.... My only concern is older cars tend to have more issues, random rust spots that surface, etc.

Wow yeah, I see what you're saying. One looks like a smushed minivan, and the other looks like an actual sports car!

FYI, This is not what a sports car looks like:

(not that I am implying the Camaro is actually a sports car)

And for an actual sports car reference:
