TurboNova
After going through countless flaky people and liars. I drove to Tennessee yesterday and got this car. it is an 89gt, I was surprised really how clean it was and getting it for an amazing deal (sometimes you gotta make a trip to find the deals) car is unmolested. Only real mods is a 5 lug swap with the bullet wheels/tires, edelbrock 70mm tb and spacer. Typical small tube headers/hpipe/flowmasters. The car still has all ac and works, smog pump, all stuff in interior works (power windows locks mirrors lights) even the ashtray Overall I am real happy about the project. The cars first priority will be paint. it has 20 year old paint fade with very little rust bubble spot by ford emblem on hatch. The car has two cracked pieces, one on front bumper and one on rear. It will either get cobra bumpers or stock replacements. After paint I will be doing complete suspension. Then over winter the motor gets pulled to get resealed, headstuds and an on3turbo kit. My project goal completion will be next summer, I want to just cruise it this summer, I put 20 miles on it today the car drives so nice. http://i6.photobucket.com/albums/y216/1972nova/DSC00662.jpg http://i6.photobucket.com/albums/y216/1972nova/DSC00661.jpg http://i6.photobucket.com/albums/y216/1972nova/DSC00664.jpg http://i6.photobucket.com/albums/y216/1972nova/DSC00665.jpg http://i6.photobucket.com/albums/y216/1972nova/DSC00669.jpg http://i6.photobucket.com/albums/y216/1972nova/DSC00670.jpg http://i6.photobucket.com/albums/y216/1972nova/DSC00671.jpg

staywide8
So... did you actually NOT get THIS? KillJoy He clearly stated Well another deal gone bad! Delete this thread. We had a contract that the body shop was gonna fix a couple spots I was unhappy about and a few other parts that the guy did not end up having. I just could not justify 4000 for a roller if the body was not perfect. The search continues So I'd say no.
TurboNova
Thanks rob, yeah I hope to get as much tips since some people have installed chads kit already so that the install is without to many errors. Good question on the skid marks...lol I hope not. Would loved to have had that 92 cobra clone however, like many other people I have dealt with, he was not ready to sell it, he did not have his shit together. I will never know why people sell cars then either get cold feet or are not prepared to see cash and make a deal happen Either way I am excited about this car and its potential
93fox
Cleeeeean lookin gt. If your doing headstuds, mls head gaskets are almost a must then with chads kit. Goodluck with the fox, let me know if you have any questions about putting the turbo on or anythingn
TurboNova
which headgaskets is everyone doing? some people on the turbo forums say not to use mls. you want something to give before the block. I guess either way its a matter of time before the block would go so it does not matter. I will use MLS I am sure

Buckeye1647545503
Before you get the car painted give andy a a shot at it. You whould be surprised what he can "repair"
TurboNova
I would but it has some spidering in the front bumper and some scratches. and some clear peal on the rear wing. and the hatch is a complete different shade. I am thinking doing it just red again or maybe even red with some ghost flames in it. Not too many thoughts about just whatever comes to mind with paint right now but want to see it get painted here by may possibly

ICEMAN1647545504
I had the Fel-Pro gaskets... My 94 had them too with the s-trim blower... Never saw a leak... Just make sure you get the rubber ones with the metal core inside... They work great...

Mattsv8
so on a ford a permatorque is better than a mls? im confused
TTQ B4U
looks good and brings back memories of college. paint and interior.....I would call Andy or Todd. You'd be better off putting $500-$700 in them to make it like new and then use the money saved on building the power. 20yr old fade is nothing to them. Seriously, you could go out there now with cleanser and brillo pad and they would still save her like new.
Dave1647545494
so on a ford a permatorque is better than a mls? im confused felp-pro makes an mls gasket for small block ford.....

BDHG940
Good looking car, besides for the wheels, looks like the same GT I started out with Everyone always says different on the head gaskets, 1011-1, 1011-2, pt9333,....... I dont know what the best is and with any of those, studs and a good tune, shouldnt have any problem.

TurboNova
yeah brian will be the choice for tuning for sure, I will most likely use the 9333 but I have a little while so I will keep on researching. Thanks
