I think we also have the sheets of styrene (sp) that are used to build some R/C air planes as well. You might want to check the craft, art, and other hobby shops to see what they have. I would suggest going to the one at Polaris since it seems to be the biggest and has the best selection of stuff other than basic fabrics...God I spend way to much time toteing my mother-in-law around. It can get a little pricey depending on the density, but they will cut it to size for you and you only pay for what you need. Sorry I sound like a dork. I worked there for three years. You are setting yourself up for fail if you attempt to use a regular houshold machine. You make get it to go through most materials(not leather), but the stitch will never be tight enough to hold.
