Xyster101
I have been running around with stock 93 wheels on my 91 and a stock side mounted IC. Well I did a few favors for a friend who totaled his car and he sold/gave some wheels and a IC. Took me 2 hours of simple green, PB blaster and a Scotch Brite to clean the wheels up. They came with good rubber too. Now I can keep the boost up at Mid Ohio without worry of heat soak with this IC! Plus these wider tires should keep me from spinning off the track (I do that a lot). Here is the old one: http://www.adamdaley.com/max/mr2/engine/ic/ic01.jpg Frustration! http://www.adamdaley.com/max/mr2/engine/ic/ic04.jpg New IC mounted with a Spal fan http://www.adamdaley.com/max/mr2/engine/ic/ic09.jpg

zeitgeist57
Max...dig the wheels also. Looks great! Any chance you can get center caps to fill those voids? I hate that look about certain aftermarket rims. Caps, or spray the axle black so it's not rust brown...

Xyster101
Thanks for the warm comments, this can be a tough crowd. I want center caps, picked the wheels up for $200 with new rubber, so I wasn't going to complain. Problem is the back ones the axle actually sticks out just a hair. So not sure how that will work. I will sand and paint them if I can't find center caps.
zeitgeist57
I will sand and paint them if I can't find center caps. That's a great way to go. It's just tragic when someone has great looking wheels and there are rusty dust caps ruining the look. CR can be a "tough crowd"? Noooooooo... Smokey
looks great. Good call on the intercooler upgrade, but if I may, I suggest looking at a small simple water injection system for the track. Even a bigger intercooler will get heat soaked during 20-30 minute sessions. If you want I'll show you what i did on the FD sometime. Simple and effective. Archie
Looks good Max, the wheels make the car look 100% better. That intercooler looks like it was a bitch to get to.
John Bruh
gonna guess you rerouted the washer fluid hoses and filled the reservoir with water? fill it with washerfluid not water!

Smokey
gonna guess you rerouted the washer fluid hoses and filled the reservoir with water? no, it's a stand alone system with a tank in the trunk. The washer reservoir unfortunately wasn't big enough to last an entire track session. Still, it's simple and easy to implement and offers a good protection that I think every forced induction car should have at the track. BMWGSXR
Nice MR2. The wheels look nice. You actually live right by me. My wife and I were on a walk the other night and I saw your car, and gave you a head nod.
Xyster101
You actually live right by me. My wife and I were on a walk the other night and I saw your car, and gave you a head nod. Well stop by and say hi! I am always outside working on something or another. I know I would stop and talk to someone with a nice car in his driveway! looks great. Good call on the intercooler upgrade, but if I may, I suggest looking at a small simple water injection system for the track. I have no idea how to do water injection and I don't know a lot about engine management. I know a few guys on the MR2 board have put a "mega squirt" in the car, which would be ok, but I don't know much about them. I can't run my washer fluid since my engine is in the rear! God I love those cars. Looks pretty good dude. This car is a hoot to drive! It is also super hard to drive at the limit. Once the rear starts to go, man she goes quick. Everything you know about normal driving does not apply. Never let off the throttle in mid turn or a slide or it will loop (like a bike). It takes turns well, is quick, and has a real go cart feel. Might not be the quickest car, but I like the uniqueness of it.

I'm referring to something completely seperate. No biggie. If you make it out to a cars and coffee meet this spring I'll give you a better idea of what I'm talking about.
