Need recommendation for downspout pipe repair

I have a downspout pipe in our front yard that is very likely a victim of a tree (now dead and will be removed shortly) that I need dug up and repaired/replaced.

Does anyone have a good recommendation or referral to have come out and look at this and perhaps begin work ASAP ?

Thanks!

Tim

Pretty easy to replace one, just dig it up and replace with corregated pipe from Lowes or HD. just need the slip fitting to connect it too the exsisting pipe.

Where does it go too?

I installed 1000' at my house when i was building.

Easier said that done and right now time is against me. I don't have the time to commit to these types of projects. This one runs about 65' from the corner of my house, under the sidewalk and then to the street.

FWIW, I have a broken line in my backyard. I'm looking at getting rain barrels if you're interested...

You big tree-hugging hippie! :p

If it was in the back yard I would seriously consider it. Especially if it was the line on either side of my deck where we could mount the barrel up high on the deck. Hmmm....maybe not a bad idea anyway.....gravity would then feed the water down the deck into the yard were we have a lot of things to water.

Keep me posted when yours is complete. I might want to look into it.

here's our deck...I'd put the barrel on the deck in a decorative way...in the corner opposite where this photo was taken from...corner of house and deck. That would be perfect I would think. Has a lot of roof to drain at that point too.

put one under your deck

Now that's cool! There's plenty of room under there and I even have doors on the lattice work that swing open wide too.

I might have to call you to discuss if you've done this. Is that your set up? I need to better understand more about how the water is drawn out...pump vs gravity?

Actually i saw it on "this old house" on wosu and thought it was a great idea.

It has a filtered funnel that fits under the downspout that directs the water

it filters towards the pillow. Once stored it utilizes a pump to supply water to a hose

or spout.
