Been a while since any updates....here are some. I will be on the water by next week testing.

I have it a little more together now, I was just too tired to take any more.

You also have to deal with my Black Berry's crappy camera.

(EDIT: that blue on the seats its just tape to protect the white vinyl. It is not a blue stripe)

Dude you could have bought a kickass boat for as much as you have dropped in that thing. Also who did the outside? I am kicking around the idea of doing a quick remodelling of the boat thats been sitting and was considering painting the outside as well. I will do it myself probably but was curious which paint was used.

Yeah, but now I have a kickass boat that's exactly what I want and designed by me. It would have been MUCH easier and probably cheaper to get one already done. I will give you that. But, it's a hobby so what can I do.....

A guy in Groveport is who painted it. It is Martin Auto body and Restoration - He does mostly car restoration stuff, but does some boats also. The paint he used is PPG. His name is Ken Martin, the owner. A real nice guy. Tell him Matt with the Formula he painted black sent you.

How does it look? How much was it?

It looks great! He did amazing work on it. The deal I had worked out was tricky and probably a one time kinda deal, but he said under normal circumstances he would have charged $3,500.

Honestly, I love the paint, but the next boat I will have someone vinyl wrap. I thought about having someone do that carbon fiber wrap on a boat, or if I ever get another wave runner on it.

Thats a crazy price. jesus that's expensive. i would rather just paint it myself for that kinda loot. Is it gold sprinkled?

LOL - You know me though. You know I did not pay CLOSE to that much. It is on par with paint jobs I have seen for that price though on the more expensive boats. Plus, if you just did one color, I bet it would be cheaper too. Less taping off and such.

I researched it for another project and a well reputable company claimed that a well maintained boat used regularly would need redone after 3 years or the colors will really fade. I believe it, have you see the vinyl wrap we had done on the trucks. It looked like hell quickly and thats not taking a beating or having the harsh glare off of water.

I have just a 2' wide strip in red around mine and I am thinking of switching everything to different colors. I want a black hull with white then gray thin pinstriping, change out interior to white seats with light gray piping ad black accents, and cant find a carpet I like which is halting everything else. I also thought of deleting the back to back seats, building a sundeck over engine and adding a bech across back. I would paint trailer black. And perhaps wrapping the plastic dash pieces with that carbon vinyl.

Awesome ideas.

Check the marine carpet Lowes carries. That is where the carpet for the little boat is coming from. Decent selection - AWESOME prices. Only 6-8 dollars a yard.

The sun pad is awesome to have. Great for laying out and much more sporty looking in my eyes.

The carbon fiber is what I am going to do with all my hard interior panels.

Sounds like yours will come out great. You already have a well built hull, so I wouldn't think twice about putting some moeny in it.

If it was a bayliner though..........:gtfo:

I figure it would take well under $1k if I do it all myself. Which isnt bad but I really cant justify it right now. Its the whole reason it has been sitting for so long. I can use it just fine now but it is dated. Then with nowhere to store it, I have to ask if its really worth it. And then trying to get a factory looking sundeck built and then................................................................................

Tank Sears did his on a 38 Top Gun Cigarette in California over 5 years ago, still looks sharp. Depends on material used, ink used and laminate.

And you boys want to dog a stock bayliner? How about one thats set to kill?

I don't think I ever got around to posting pics of the final product. These were from the first test run and from my blackberry, so excuse the bad pic quality. It ran great last year. Blew up my out drive at the end, but have another on and ready to go for the spring. Lots of prop testing needed.

Only stuff planned for this year is cosmetic, interior lighting, new cover, and lots of gas!

Video of her idling at the docks. It was a cold morning out. Also, that is a echo you are hearing, not a knock.
