Met some guys at mid ohio last week that said I should be on here.

I've got a '06 GTI. Pretty much stock aside from a 3" catless downpipe, an intake, and some track pads that need to come back off.

I'll probably get rid of this car and get a E36 M3 or another miata or something else that's better suited to track days.

In the past I've had a heavily modified '90 miata autoX car (16x8s, slicks, coilovers, etc...) and a street mod protege 5.

So, uh, hi!

Yeah, my shop used to be a dance studio for little girls, I need to paint.

Anyway, only pics of the P5 I could find.

I don't have any digital pics of the miata, so just imagine a slammed white one with a dented fender and a whole bunch of tire under it.

It still is! Ha!

I think I've seen a few dozen of those running around!

All joking aside, welcome and bonus points for actually getting to the track.

Never realized the rainbow was that big of a deal. Guess I'll have to hurry up and paint in there.

The rusty porsche is a '69 911s. Only driven to church on sundays by a little old lady.

OP

Seemed like the logical progression would have been to go with a car like mine. What happen?

Did you read too many Car and Driver/Motortrend Mags that always rate the gti over the MS3?

First And Last Warning, as you probably didn't read:

"Noobs don't welcome noobs

You need to have at least 100 posts AND have been on here for at least three months before posting in anyone else's "welcome me" thread. Breaking this will get you an infraction."

In response to cprolly

I looked at all the sport compacts, the GTI isn't the fastest but it's by far the nicest car in that range. After the rust issues I had with my P5 and several terrible local dealer experiences I probably won't be buying another mazda new enough to have a warranty.

Pics of the GTI from mid ohio, I didn't pay for them lolz:

The open face helmet makes me look even fatter than usual.

I met this guy at Mid Ohio. He is a great guy. Just needs to get some better brakes and tires for the next Mid Ohio session! Nice to meet you Brian and welcome to the cooker! You look like this guy with your open face helmet on!
