My kayak fishing setup (lots of pics)

Recommended Posts

Thought it'd be fun to post some pictures of my setup.

Here's my 2002 Perception Carolina 14 without any of the fishing equipment mounted.

I installed some velcro strips inside the kayak where I can keep a laminated map of any body water I'm fishing (Hoover pictured)

You are one serious mofo about Kayaking and Fishing. I love it! Nice set up.

I spy rust on the Maxima though

Yeah...it's turning into a rust bucket. Gotta get out to Kevin's to get a quote.

Where do you store your tackle? Just strap it down on the back?

I have a bass & crappie box each that I keep inside the cabin with me between my feet along with my small lunch box cooler and small minnow bucket.

Went out today for about 4 hrs on Hoover. Got 20 crappie on minnows (till the gar scared them off) and my first ever large mouth bass on a spinner. There were gar all over the place at Two Bridges on the surface and I manged to snag one while going for a crappie, but it came off the hook.

My first large mouth came from me casting down a large rock shore at two bridges with a $1 spinner from Walmart. I think I'm going to change my pattern and go for bass only from here on out. What a fight...something else seeing it jump out of the water while reeling it in.

another week or two we'll have to head down to my favorite park pond. its close by, so i dont want to post it up and have a shit load of people down there. the pic i posted last spring came from that spot. that was 5/30/09, so here soon it'll be nice

plus, im getting countertops on the 26th, and im hoping to have all the paint/handles/skins, etc done by then so once they come, i dont have to do anything else...free weekends! haha
