Sam1647545489
The 555r tire. How do they hook on the street. I need high hp cars with them on.
TimTaylor751647545500
They were great on my car. Oh...you said high HP. They were still great on my car.
MrMeanGreen
Horrible, and I was only making 400rwhp at the time.

ICEMAN1647545504
MT's work a lot better. My car made 508 and 1st gear was useless on the street and didn't hook up till top of 2nd. The MT's spin just a bit in 1st and hook after. I had 315/35/17 of both.
Cordell
400rwhp on my Camaro doesn't hook for shit on the street, a lillte spray and they don't stand a chance at the track either.
I Eat Rice
They worked wonders on any car that I have had, however, the highest hp car was only making 347 whp. I ran the nitto 555 r. With that car I was able to 20 roll all night long with no traction problems at all. I am going to assume when you say high hp you mean well more than that so a more sticky selection of nitto would be a must for you.
TurboRust
mach 1 made insta torque with the eaton and would blow them off in 1st and 2nd....however if you decide to go with em lemme know as i should have the best price in town
Linn1647545492
Nitto has a new DR the NT05R. Sam the nittos were great at 160mph and the back end of my car didn't move around like it does with my M&Hs. From a dig the nittos were crap but fine from a roll when my car was a bolt on car with spray.
RUTAN TA1647545492
I hated them on my car, it would turn the low trac light on if i down shifted at 65 but Linn is right they feel good at 160. I would look into a different tire than the 555r

Sam1647545489
The issue I am having is a 26.1" tire wont fit in the rear of the car. Nitto makes a 25.5" nitto that I think will go hence why I asked. If I cant get the 26" to fit then I gotta run a 24" hoosier.

Sam1647545489
what size rim? 16" which is the hardest size to find tires for.

Sam1647545489
Still better than 555's I am trying to get alil more gear out of my rear end as its the highest gear for the car that I know of. 2.92 gear is in it now and it tops out at about 145mph so if I could get the 26" tire to fit I might be able to squeeze a few more mph out of it and get it to the 150 mark. TurboRust
what about this http://www.discountedwheelwarehouse.com/Store_Detail.cfm?ID=203626&InfoID=4278&ShowLarge=True in case you're considering these, that isn't a correct picture. the 255-50-16's come in a traditional bfg tread not the new tread... not brian, and wagner both have them no the backs of their cars. BDHG940
Whitlows 03 was making just over 500rw and hooked on the streets. Barely spin for a moment launching from a light but 20+ roll it would just stick. I think he had a little wider though than what you would be able to run. I heard a few people talking about that new dr as well and heard some good reviews. There was a thread I believe on Svtperformance about them recently
Trouble Maker
That is a 26.1" tire if I remember correctly. Every tire is a little different. It might be a little of a guessing game, or digging pretty deep. But I bet some of those tires that are 26.1" by the sidewall numbers will fit under the car (if you are saying a 26" tire will fit). Unless that is even at 26" by the sidewall numbers some fit and some don't. Look at the revs/mi number (tire rack has these), it will give a you a better idea comparatively how tall a tire actually is. Get the # for a tire that you know fits, then look at others you are interested in, even if it says 26.1" by the sidewall #. A tire like the 555 won't stretch as much at speeds a a DR will either. What is causing the rubbing issues? Can you roll the fenders or have you already done that or don't want to?
