lcz06
Sorry so long, so on 5-20-10 I sold a guy on the corvette forums a used Red Halltech Stinger Intake system for a corvette. So 35days later I receive a dispute from Paypal on the transaction claiming, "item they received did not match the original description." He clams that 3inches was removed from the intake copler, and it's to short to mount up. I know this is bs, as I mounted it on my car before. But, I guess it could possibly be short on some set-ups as I bought it used from a forum member on the corvette forums. Say's he bought it for his business partner. This was 35+ day's later when he sent me the paypal claim and Paypal sided with me stating, "PayPal's Buyer Complaint Policy applies only to the shipment of goods and not to complaints about the attributes or quality of goods received through an off eBay transaction. Therefore, we will not conduct an investigation into this matter at this time." So I sent him several e-mail's/pm's stating even though it's been 35+ day's since shipping, I would refund his money, if he shipped the items back in the same manner and shipping method that I used. I just asked if he could simply send my pictures of what he's claiming is wrong with the coupler. So, instead of e-mailing me back, he posts on the corvette forums that I scammed him and knew it was cut off at the end for a turbo set-up. Kept calling it crap, told the mods that I never shipped it, I scammed him, I never tried to communicate with him in any way, posting my personal name, address, and e-mail address:asshole:. Let left him banned for 30days and the mods cleaned up all of his bullshit. Here is my posted picture of the item and it's condition, http://img692.imageshack.us/img692/8929/sn150676.jpg Here is the 3 inches he's claiming is missing from the intake, http://img441.imageshack.us/img441/71/img0167ea.jpg I don't know about you, but it doesn't look like 3inches is missing at all and I never had any fitment issues when I installed it on my car. So, he finally sent me an e-mail saying, I did not receive one email from you and the PMs i got from you did not sound like you gave a shit, and it is great that you can show pictures of your airbridge, but you did not show one picture of it without that red rubber piece off, i still have your junk part. Please send the money back through paypal PS its great that you can rip off newer member and then when i call you out on it you have some moderator close the thread because you are a senior member You never had that intake on your car because it dont fit and i have more pics to prove that to. Attached is your shitty piece on the left, that i bought for my business partner. On the right is the one that is on my car, notice the black mark, which yours does not have This is after he does all the crap above. He never even offers to ship my, "crap" back to me. So I replied with this e-mail today, Hello, Sorry it took so long to get back to you, first of all you need to stop posting on the corvette forums saying that I, “scammed” you and posting my personal information. Great way to try and work something out with someone. You can also stop telling the mods that I, “didn’t even ship you the item”, because I have all of the tracking information from fed-ex and you quoting that you received the intake. I sent you many e-mails, pm’s to see my e-mails ect and still you posted all this crap without even trying to work something out with me. Then you claim, “I didn’t see any e-mails,” even though I pmed you to see my e-mail. I bought that intake used from a different forum member and test fit it on my car WITHOUT ISSUE. It was installed on my 01 z06. So it really looks like your scamming me. I also just threw up some pictures of the intake and didn’t think it would turn into, “you had the coupler on the end, so it hide the shorter intake coupler crap.” I was trying to hide anything. So here’s what’s going to happen, Paypal has already refused you claim for a refund, without even you offering once to send my, “crap” back, during this whole ordeal. I am busy, and don’t have all the time in the world to deal with this. I really understandably, don’t have to do anything for you, since I shipped the item almost 40days ago and who known’s what did to it during that time. But I’m an honest person, and I’m going to work with Halltech to see about getting you a longer coupler that will allow you to do a proper install. I will be sending this free of charge, to you. Sending the whole kit back for a full refund this late in the game is simply not going to happen. And I’m sorry if you feel that you go scammed, but I need to know how many inches you need to make up for, since it’s two, “short”. You also need to fix your attitude, or I will not be working with you any longer. Let me know. Sincerely, Shawn So me being nice, I plan on working with Halltech to see if I can find a coupler to make up the difference that he's claiming is missing, free of charge. Even though he bad mouthed me to no end and continues to do so. What would you do?
nurkvinny
Well handled, but I would also be upset if I bought a bridge and then found out it was shortened. I can see his side, kind of. However, after he lied once or treated me shitty... I would be done with him.
Skinner
personally I would tell him to eat a dick. He had it for 30 plus days and then comes and tries to cry foul. I would also show a him a pic of it installed on your car to show that there is no issue.

Maybe they changed the casting and its was like that for years and they changed it because some cars it didnt fit on.

JuicedH22
I saw that thread, or one of, on CF... that guy sounded like a total douche. At first I thought it was some tard who didnt realize there was MAF differences from the earlier models and was fucking that up... Never realized the guy he was bitching about was on here, lol. I think you are doing the right thing, being more than fair, and understanding, even if the guy is being a fucktard. Do exactly what you said in the email, and you more than took care of your end of the bargain.
Scotty2Hotty
I think his "business partner" is really his butt buddy. I bet the guy has no clue how to work on cars in the first place. You're being very generous to him, not to mention pretty professional. If he continues his current attitude, I'd tell him to go F himself. lcz06
This is what this guy sent me today, I can not believe you are telling me to try my fix my attitude when you sent me a bad item. First of, there is no coupler long enough for that to work.. THE LIP THAT IS AT THE END OF THE INTAKE IS MISSING. That is what you need to hold the coupler and the clamp on, without that, when you tighten the clamp down it squeezes the plastic and it pops off. You seen my pics, you know what im talking about. I did not tell one mod you didnt ship it, so you are mis informed there... 1 day or 40 days, you still scammed me, its not my fault that i didnt try to install the intake 30 seconds after i got it, we run a business and do not always have time to install it. Attached again is a picture , you can see the LIP that needs to be there and how much is missing. I did not get one email from you, I did not see anything from paypal, and your PMs didnt really say anything that you were willing to help. Put yourself in my shoes and you would feel the same way that i do. When you sell a shit item you deserve to be called out on it so you dont scam again. I am done with this fuck tard. I have tried everything possible to fix his issue with the item. I have sent him multiple e-mails, pm's, and many different things for him to just be an ass about everything. All he has done is lie out his ass. This makes me never want to sell anything over the internet, so I don't have to deal with f tards like this again. I'm going to look at the boob's thread to make me feel better now:D.
Guest tbutera2112
are his claims valid though? did you sell him an intake that was shortened without mentioning that it was shortened?
CRed05
It looks like its been cut of to me? You might not have known this, and it's not like you tried to scam him, but isnt he technically right? He can definitely make that work though... lcz06
are his claims valid though? did you sell him an intake that was shortened without mentioning that it was shortened? No, I didn't in any way modify the intake or shorten it. I bought it used from another member, but it installed fine on my set-up. I'm trying to find a picture of it installed. It was a few years ago since I had it installed. It looks like its been cut of to me? You might not have known this, and it's not like you tried to scam him, but isnt he technically right? He can definitely make that work though... I agree and I see his point, but he's been a total ass this whole time and their is no way in hell it's the 3ins he's claiming. He won't even try and work with me. I didn't do a single thing to the intake or I would have posted it in my add. Also, it's also been 40+ day's since ship, and who knows what this guy has done to the intake for all I know. I'm not even going to mess with this guy anymore. Not worth my time. I tried and he failed.
ImUrOBGYN
I think you've handled it pretty well, so far. If he keeps being a dick, however, I would tell him to eat one.
JuicedH22
that jackass clearly shouldnt be working on cars, if he thinks that lip is required for it to work... what an idiot.
koolrayz
Without that lip it will never hold 20 psi of boost! Oh wait it is a cold air intake lol. If you need a source for randon silicone hose let me know. I bet IPS would have some laying around also. No need to contact the vendor. Ill bet if you watch you will see him selling it later. wagner
Tell him to go suck a cheetah’s dick and to have an outstanding day. You went above and beyond and this ratard can't seem to grasp the big picture.
Kevin R.
He thinks it needs that tiny, insignificant lip in order to be tightened correctly. All he needs to do is tighten down the clamp down onto the rubber piece to get it to hold. How many intakes have these lips that are apparently necessary to hold it down -- very little. +1 on he doesn't know how to work on cars.... On another note, I can see his side of things. However, too many people are too quick to yell "scam" on the internet and make a huge deal out of it on a message boards -- when you could be dealing with the nicest person ever on the other side who made a legitimate mistake or really didn't know there was 3/4" missing. Having the right attitude goes a long way in this world -- and frankly, he doesn't have the right one.
Main3s
That sucks mang. It sounds like the guy may be confused on some things and that's where his "Fucktardedness" is coming from. Either way it seems like you were willing to resolve the issue as long as he would be willing to work with you. If you're a scammer, you'e one of the better ones out there J/K... On another note, buying and selling on the internet isn't for everyone. I hate dealing with paranoid people. Look shit happens. I shipped a scan gauge to a guy once and the chrome bezel around the gauge came lose during shipping which cause an issue with operating the gauge. I apologized, had him send the gauge back, called him and resolved the issue. When i got the gauge back I just tightened down the bezel and it worked just fine...It's in my car now actually. Anyway the point is that if someone is paranoid about scamming or getting scammed they're probably more likely to spazz out over every little thing. There has to be trust from the buyer and the seller to make it work.
JuicedH22
Unfortunately, that guy represents the average CF member, and the average corvette owner... they dont know shit...
twistedfocus1647545489
Unfortunately I see shit like this all the time dealing with people on the internet (eBay specifically). There are alot of people that think they have to throw a tantrum to get what they want and act like the world is ending over a clamp or something and you're to blame for all of it. Often it becomes more about crying and placing blame than trying to even resolve the issue. I'd say you've done what you can by offering to help and explain that you didn't intentionally misrepresent the product (if you did at all). If all he wants to do is continue to cry, I think it's time to tell flat tell him that you've offered to do all you can and if that's not good enough he can piss up a rope. Edit: Noticed in the prior post it was mentioned that he's a typical Corvette guy. Nothing against you Vette guys, but there are an awful lot of the aforementioned whiners in that crowd. Certainly not all, and increasingly less these days - but they are a notorious group.
