Guest tbutera2112
didnt read your whole post because its way too long ...but the audi looks a lot nicer than the subbie
cinergi
It's a bad pic of the wrx, he can't take pictures and the other guy can't spell. It's long because of the mods.
Guest tbutera2112
the mod list sounds a lot nicer on the subaru (built motor as opposed to a swapped stock motor in a high mileage chassis)...it just looks raggedy...looks like a high school kid got it and beat on it and now is selling it before it falls apart...maybe its just the wheels, idk...it just looks worn out

Not Brian
I would much rather have the Audi over a boosted econobox if you're going to dd the thing.
Bam
Are the prices comparable? I think that's important information needed to make a decision. If so I definitely choose the WRX.
cinergi
Yes, prices on par with each other.
unfunnyryan
with that audi you are just buying the problems the seller couldnt figure out. if that STI is built right it probably could do pretty well.
Guest tbutera2112
the wrx looks much better in the other pic....those wheels make it look like dick... ide go for the wrx, it seems like it would be a more solid purchase
Mr. Jones
I wouldn't trust either one as a DD, that being said.... The S4 will violate the WRX every. single. time. For those wanting cliffs, they did the RsK04 "stage3" with an alleged 420awhp, which is not unusual for a K04 swap. I know diddly shit about Subies, but I do know that 420awhp > 280awhp. Draco-REX
If you're buying a DD, I'd say neither. Get a stock STI and work from there. I cringe at the thought of the repair bills on the Audi. I've seen ZB work on some Audis and I would rather work on a Subaru. You have no idea how well the swap was done in either. I don't know about Audi swaps, but the Subaru swap needs to have a good tune, and it looks like he left the stock WRX 5-speed in there. Just swapping the engine and gears in a WRX != an STI. Also, I see it has a MBC and a BOV. That tune better be spot on, and he better not have fiddled with the MBC for some extra POWAH. Dunno.. I'm really hesitant about buying a modded used car. At the barest MINIMUM you should get a compression/leakdown test on the cars before you sign anything or hand over any money. How much are you planning to spend on these? Because a stock STI + a Turbo-Back exhaust + a custom tune = more AWHP than that WRX and it will be a HELL of a lot more reliable.

I understand everything you are saying and I talked to the shop who built the WRX. It was done right. I've owned WRX's since 2003, so I asked all the right questions. Now while I cannot speak for how it was driven since the tune, I would trust it would not have been that much of an issue, it has less than 4K miles on it since the swap. The tranny is far from stock, it's a PPG Helicut. From my knowledge of them, they'll hold 800 hp very, very well. I stay away from a 100% STI because I like to keep my insurance costs down. It's an additional $50 a month anywhere I have checked.

Not Brian
I have a feeling you'll quickly make up your own mind once you get an insurance quote on the Subaru. Thank the wreckless teenagers for that.

cinergi
LOL@Brian... Yeah, it seems like years ago they were much cheaper. WRX is usually 15% more than other vehicles from what I have calculated. As I mentioned before the STI was crazy.
