Okay, so I scared a few hours out of the house last night to work on WTF. Swapped out the coils from my Mk2, and the the wheels that were on it. Put the stock struts and a set of steelies on there. Nose bleed stance doesn't even come close to describing it. It's been so long since I've seen a stock height Mk2 I am still in shock. Either way The GTI is starting to look Baller IMO at least. On to the pics.

BOOM!

Still plenty of adjustment to do on the rear, but I'm gonna wait til I put the Reps on. The paint still needs a ton of work, but for the the buy in price I'm not complaining.

Whorse House?

Trade you my beat ass Centras for those reps... elliptical wheels are good for reducing back pain.

LOL, you funny guy.

Before the Front Lip. Love VW's

MKii and iii's that is.

Super clean Jetta. I forced myself into Mk3's. I'm glad I did. They are light years ahead of Mk1's and Mk2's.

So I ordered a new hub assembly from Parts Place Inc. Got it in and no more growling form the front end. However, this thing over heats like mad. took it out for a test drive yesterday got out on the freeway and BAM! 220-230 immediately. So to day I'll pick up a T-stat, fresh coolant. Oh and a fan switch. Not sure yet. The plastic housing on the D/S of the head appears to be leaking a bit too. Otherwise it ran ran great, was quiet, and handled awesome. But doggedly slow.

Getting closer, dis mudda fugga runs again. I haven't updated this thing in for ever. I started on it again last weekend getting the engine bay cleaned up. Paint the block, head, Powdercoat some things.

Once it's light out I'll get some better ones. Amazingly only a quickie fuel leak. But then again I test fired it with out the cooling system in.

Did you powdercoat all those pieces yourself? Looks awesome!

Thanks, the only thing I didn't do was rebuild the Alternator. I took it to a shop near downtown to have the case split, new Regulator, Bearings, and whatever else makes it alternate..

I took the pulley, case and fan to coat those. You can't really see from that angle, but all the pulleys, water pump housing, Main mount bracket, Alternator, A/C delete bracket, Intake, Valve Cover, Valve Cover clamps, Tensioner. Little wire tuckage, SAI delete, New fuel lines, Re-Oringed injectors, Gaskets, belts, Plugs, Wires, Cap, Rotor. I need to button up a few bits, build an Intake for it, break the rear coil-overs loose. Wheel gap sucks. And then a final detail all over.

As far as the logo i painted that using some of my pinstriping paint and a detail brush.

I will say this erik, it looks 100% better, i am kinda surprised it runs again, and its still SLOW!

This is the first engine bay clean up like this I've seen on a VW. It's not bad, and I do like what you've done with the intake manifold, what did you use on the VW logo?

If I go by the VWVortex rules, it's still a gross engine bay. But 99% of those members are Emu freaks.

This thing will be a pain to keep clean. Only because I'll want to keep it clean.

I'll never understand the whole v-dub thing, and I'm okay with that.

They're cheap to fix when they break.

And Fin. Last thing to do is a final detail in and out, swap in a new Timing Belt and Tensioner from my parts pile to throw on. The original one has at least 1-1.5" slack in it with the tensioner all the way out. Pumped the nasty gas out. Well technically it was Turpentine, and E85.

It ran like total arse Saturday night after I buttoned everything back up. As much as I tried to deny it when I had two of the plug wires wrong it bucked back pretty hard and jumped 2 teeth on the worn out timing belt.

So pulled the timing cover, pulled the belt, lined everything back up, and 45 minutes later it was bouncing off the rev limiter easily.

The motor mounts are pretty soft, but I'm not gonna worry about it. I've got Hockey pucks if I decide to stiffen it up. Off to Derek later this week for an alignment, and that's it. It'll get driven and put up FS or Trade. I've only bought six cars this year, and I'm starting to get that itch again.....
