Guest tbutera2112 Posted July 23, 2010 Report Share Posted July 23, 2010 nope..00 is the t45, half way through 01 they switched to the tr3650 both trans are junk, but the 3650 is less junk with a t45, it doesnt matter how much power you make, youre going to break it....ide say anything over 300rwhp and its doomed to a much shorter life my car making 260rwhp broke mine, and jeffro went through a shit load of these things (may have been 3650s, but same shit) if youre looking to make any more power than stock, you need to upgrade it liberty makes built t45s that would drop right in, or you can go with a tko500/600 or a built t56...ive seen a few drag racers do a c4 auto swap also heres some TKO 500/600 and some t45s http://www.promotionpowertrain.com/BEST_OF_BEST.html youre looking at right around 4200 for a faceplated tko600 which is what you would want for making that kind of power or if you wanted a 6spd instead of a 5spd, a built t56 can be had for about the same price, maybe a hair more Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

jeffro Posted July 23, 2010 Report Share Posted July 23, 2010 700hp from a 2v? i think not. best bet it to get a cobra dropout, put much better internals in it, boost it, buy tko, rape shit. in all seriousness, like tyler said, anything around/over 300ft lbs of torque is going to eat those trannies up. 3 t-45s in one summer and i was only at 298ft lbs of tq. you might be ok with a t-56, but im not garaunteeing anything. some common bolt ons include, gears, intake, chipped, underdrive pullies, larger throttlebody. unless you go boost, your going to be limited at around 260 wheel. kirks5oh Posted July 23, 2010 Report Share Posted July 23, 2010 Im not sure what he's doing,i suggested swapping a 03-04 cobra motor into it,but he said he got something better in store so i didnt question it to much.And i dont think he cares to much on the money side he's ok there. if money's no worry, go to svtperformance and buy someone's cobra that has 800rwhp on it already---plenty are available on the site at any time. most of them have better pistons in the motor, a built solid rear, and upgraded clutch/input shaft for the transmission, and many are either big, big blower, or turbo. sure, you can make 800rwhp with a 2valve mustang GT, just like you can strap a rocket to a piece of shit and make it go fast. he will have to replace every single component of the driveline on the 2000 to make it work with even 500rwhp, let alone 800rwhp. your boy sounds like a 'dreamer'........or maybe just not too intelligent, or both.
