on my camaro, for track days i am thinking about adding a front splitter and a rear wing like this one.

my plan is to have two deck lids one thats cut for the wing and one that has a rear spoiler on it for non track days. now if i leave the wing on when i drive around would i be a ricer or would the awesomeness of a vintage muscle car in race trim make it ok?

i wouldn't be leaving it on all the time just to and from the track. i also have to have another set of stiffer springs to go along with all the down force from those mods. i mean this weird thing called technology came along between now and the 60's so i might as well take advantage of it right?

i already have the street spoiler picked out. its not stock.

Since the car is older from a technological and aerodynamical stand point it needs to have the wing to help create more down force to assist with traction and acceleration in, out, and through turns? If so I like it... if not you are a ricer :D

function before form.

at 120 the wing i linked to creates 260.64 lbs. of down force.

would it be THAT tall?

Paul you do realize for a wing to be functional it must be in the cleanest air flow possible to create air flow for downforce. Sure it can work when its in dirty turbulent air but its not going to work as good, Besides It doesn't look much taller than your SRT4 wing was.

Get one and drive on the street. A wing looks like rice on a civic or front wheel drive car. Look at these two bad ass cars from Mid Ohio that run:

ALL cars need downforce on the track, even FWD cars. A wing like this would still be every bit as functional on a FWD car.

I say do it. I would get tired of changing the trunk lid every time I took the car somewhere.
