Trying to replace the rear pads on the wifes Mazda 6 and the piston wont retract all the way. We've taken the reservoir cap off, pulled the ebrake, and tried to twist it back in but wont go all the way. We need another 3/8 to 1/2 inch but it wont budge. Any ideas guys. Thanks

Not 100% sure on this model, but most jap cars you have to spin the piston as you compress it. Autozone has a loan a tool program for a tool that makes it easy as cake.

Thank you sir. Plus rep for you. :)

As James would say if it was a Dsm you would have been done 30min ago

Probably. But would have broke 3 other things along the way. And -rep for Mazda

Mazdas are Fords, you have to do the same thing on rear brakes for 99-04 Mustangs.
