Need some insight

To make this as short and sweet as i can, i'll get right to it. I want to open a restaurant, something small, 40-50 person occupancy. I need to know if anyone on here has been through the in's and out's of starting one, and what steps should i take to get financing?? Any help would be nice, i seem to know no one that ever wanted to open their own spot.
