Netflix...

I'm on the 2 DVD at a time plan. When I get them in the mail, I rip them and put them on my iPhone/iPad. I use the streaming as a backup in case I'm through with the movies and still waiting on the next ones to come in the mail. I love it. I would cancel my cable but my wife needs it.

its not bad, i enjoy being able to watch tons of stuff from when i was a kid on my Xbox. but it seems every time i search for something its "DVD only" this is quite annoying.

+ 1 million

There are a lot of cool old shows and movies on there, but it really pisses me off that half the shit I look up tells me "DVD only." Fuck that! When I want to watch something it's usually spur of the moment, when I actually have a little free time and nothing good is on TV. Instant gratification, NOT waiting around for shit to come in the mail 3 days later.

Word on the street is they are slowly shifting more to the instant streaming, which is great news. For $8/month it's worth it IMO.

eventually netflix said they are going to go to streaming only.

And that will be the day I cancel my subscription with them. I care about the quality of what I watch. Their "HD" is usually DVD quality or slightly better, and no where near Blu-ray quality. And most of the compression techniques that these streaming companies do (and a lot of people who upload stuff via Newsgroups/Torrents) isn't all that great either.
