zeitgeist57
http://www.crutchfield.com/S-fZAKD1rKF1j/p_023THA275P/Blaupunkt-THA275PnP.html Since I'm keeping Cleetus, I'd like to finally fill it with tunes while I'm driving. I have a video iPod (I know...so 2005, right?) that I would like to play tunes from, but I really don't need an in-dash headunit. The link above shows a Blaupunkt amp that I THINK will take a line-input...like a jack from a media player like an iPod. Does anyone know if this works...an amp that just takes a headphone-jack input and amplifies it through the vehicle speakers? This would be the easiest and cheapest way for me to do it... Any experience or read about a similar simple audio setup in an older vehicle that works? Thanks.
TTQ B4U
(I know...so 2005, right?). hey, what's that matter when cleatus is as old as he is.
unfunnyryan
Hows the sound quality in the truck? Modern speakers or amps or anything? If not, I think your best option would be to just get a FM transmitter for your ipod. Adding an amp like that could be more trouble than its worth. zeitgeist57
There is nothing in the truck now. No headunit, no speakers. Wouldn't be worth shit anyway if it had the OEM sound system. Since I'm starting from scratch, I just want an amp to power new speakers, and a plug so I can play my iPod through it all. That's it. El Karacho1647545492
did a search for "ipod to amp to speakers" and came up with this thread from 2004 http://forums.ilounge.com/car-solutions/46043-ipod-amp-amp-speakers.html not gonna go hunting around the internet for you, but that seems to be a potentially useful direction to try. edit: found this when i added "car" to the search...more recent http://www.buggiesgonewild.com/electric-club-car/34435-amp-speaker-recommendations-ipod-only-install.html
Nitrousbird
Get a head unit and do it correctly. You will likely be unhappy with the setup you are looking at. There are a number of head units out there that will control your iPod directly, so you can stuff it away somewhere and it basically becomes a portable hard drive. That's what I do with mine. Second Gen
Unsure about your budget, but the Pioneed Avic (Spelling??) are great and are touch screen. My cousin installed one in a F150 with a small sub and some Infinity speakers and sounded great.
