Putty
On my title it shows the sale amount...if I get a replacement title, will it show the same amount? I need it to show something different...
John Bruh
yes it will always show the same. The only thing different it won't say original, it was say replacement. As well as in the dmv records. are you trying to raise it or lower it?

jerrodh
just say you lied to lower your taxes That will go over real well. Sell it to your GF or family for more amount then sell it? lol idk what your trying to do. Nor would I ever try to raise the value of a title... downingracing
It will show the same amount. You can transfer the title to a family member for the price of 'free' and that is what will show on the title. It also shouldn't make a difference what the title says for the price.... And if you sell it to a family member for more (on the title), you will pay the sales tax on whatever amount is put on the title.
Bam
Dammit...Raise it... Por Que? You'd have paid more in taxes for what reason?
dragknee66
I know what this is about.. youre stuck with that one! Your best bet is to just say you had it for that price for bmv fee reasons yup.

Patterson
If the car in question is worth more now than when it was purchased, get it appraised. Going with the assumption this is for insurance reasons they may require an appraisal anyway. That is the tack I would take.
