Sam1647545489
Who has been? Whats it like as far as water depth and is there places to eat on the water like at Buckeye? Some friends keep bugging me to come there with them and wanna make sure it is worth the 1.5hr trip.
Drewhop
My grandma has a house there. Whenever I went there I didnt think of it as a "party area" More of a old people area. Not a very deep lake. I think 10 foot is about deepest spot in the lake. Very similar to Buckeye in depth. http://www.dnr.state.oh.us/Home/FishingSubhomePage/LakeMapLandingPage/IndianLakeFishingMap/tabid/19527/Default.aspx
MaTS1200
I took my center console out there 7-8 years ago and was hitting what looked to be old tree stumps about 400 ft from shore. Luckily I was just idling along. The area didn't have markers either. I haven't been back since and don't plan on ever going again. If you do go use caution or plan on replacing the lower unit. Nitrousbird
All I needed to hear. Just to reinforce, we went there in 2008; wasn't on the water 10 minutes and destroyed my prop - couldn't drive above idle. Hit a stump in the water. It is as shallow if not more so than Buckeye but with a lot more hard stuff at the bottom. We did sneak into the Elks lodge (or whatever private lodge it is) and sneaked some cheap beer. Otherwise, it was a neat area. I wouldn't take anything but a jet-boat or PWC out there, and would still worry about scraping my hull. Drewhop
Isn't that water really dirty also with toxic algae? Any shallow lake in ohio is going to be the same.
Linn1647545492
I have a friend that lives on the lake and he has asked me to come up for years and I havn't made the trip. Sam and I talk about it all the time. There are bars on the lake and I've been told it's more than twice the size of Alumn but how much of the lake is usable. Some friends keep bugging me to come there with them and wanna make sure it is worth the 1.5hr trip. Sam if you know anyone who knows the water there you would never have a problem. I have been with many people who have boats deeper than yours without single issue. I have a lot of friends and family that lives there and uave been going for many years. I love the lake and prefer it to buckeye 100%. The key is to go up with people who know the lake/bars. On a good Saturday you would be fine hanging out at froggys and the swim up bar. Isn't that water really dirty also with toxic algae? Not at all.15 years ago it had some issues(nothing like grand lake st marys) but it is actually on the clean side now. It just got a bad rep along time ago. Some people still refer to it as dirty because it is shallow, which makes it muddy and people are retarded. I have a friend that lives on the lake and he has asked me to come up for years and I havn't made the trip. Sam and I talk about it all the time. There are bars on the lake and I've been told it's more than twice the size of Alumn but how much of the lake is usable. It is very much useable and it can be a bad ass party lake. The lake patrol usually doesn't bother people unless they are being retarded and give them reason to. Now is the time to try it out. I was up two weeks ago with my boat and the water was up. My depth finder was reading over 7 feet most of the time.

It's in Senecaville, oh Seneca is awesome - but it does have a HP limit of 299HP, so I can't take my new boat there. I wouldn't call it huge either, but it one of the nicer lakes in Ohio and is big enough.
Bahnstoermer1647545488
I took mine out there once last year, was fun to explore. Houses all around the lake are old, not fancy / new / clean like one would hope, but it is way different than Alum being that it has lots on the water building wise.... there are several sections of the lake to explore, etc. The water stained my girlfriends white bikini when she got in though LOL, so tell the girls to wear the black ones that day. It was definitely shallow, though I happened to be f'ing with my depth finder that day and didn't have the offset right so I can't tell you exactly how shallow haha... I'd go back once this year maybe just to change it up, but the gas to tow it there and the fact that it's not spectacular, mostly just different will probably keep it to once a year for me... Nitrousbird
It's 399 now, isn't your new boat 385? According to: http://www.lrh.usace.army.mil/_kd/go.cfm?destination=Page&Pge_ID=1237 http://www.ohranger.com/senecaville-lake http://www.senecalakecabins.com/wildlife.html http://www.ohiooutdoors.com/ohasp/ohioL2.asp?DivID=15&PageID=5&OOSection=Camping It is 299, which is what I have always recalled it being. Wikipedia and a couple other sites list it @ 399. It is possible it changed recently and these sites are not updated - though that first link "should" be the most updated website. I guess if I went there I would bring all the links that were in my favor for 399 with me.

ODNR had a press release in like 2009 saying it was raised. oops, 2008 Effective July 2008: -Horsepower increased to 399HP at Seneca and Tappan lakes. After a public hearing in May 2008, ODNR and the Muskingum Watershed Conservancy District reached an interim agreement to increase the horsepower from 299HP to 399HP on Tappan and Seneca lakes. This rule change took effect July 1. I'd take that with me, lol http://www.ohiodnr.com/watercraft/tabid/2696/Default.aspx

Tindall2006
i am from Indian lake and used to work as a boat mechanic there. I have taken several I/o's out and have never hit anything. Stay away from shore and if you leave out mound wood boat ramp stay in the middle of the channel. Also if you round miniwakan island there is a huge stump about 30 feet out from the shore. As far as bars Cranberry's is pretty hopping, Froggys is good there is also achaseons tilt in hilton and a few others. If you have any questions ask. It has been years since I have been on the lake but not a lot have changed. As long as you get on plane quick and don't fuck off doing so, you will be fine.
