Orion
Was talking with some of you guys in the chatbox earlier this week about my wife and I's garden, and I thought I would share some pictures. It's located at one of my fathers friends houses, and we go over there a couple times a week now that things are starting to ripen up. Here are some early pics... http://i60.photobucket.com/albums/h23/lhiannonshee/IMG_20110614_195848.jpg http://i60.photobucket.com/albums/h23/lhiannonshee/IMG_20110614_195832.jpg http://i60.photobucket.com/albums/h23/lhiannonshee/IMG_20110614_195811.jpg http://i60.photobucket.com/albums/h23/lhiannonshee/IMG_20110614_195759.jpg And our strawberry patch... http://i60.photobucket.com/albums/h23/lhiannonshee/IMG_20110614_195733.jpg Here are some after a few weeks of growth.... http://i60.photobucket.com/albums/h23/lhiannonshee/IMG_20110703_153844.jpg http://i60.photobucket.com/albums/h23/lhiannonshee/IMG_20110703_153835.jpg http://i60.photobucket.com/albums/h23/lhiannonshee/IMG_20110703_153800.jpg You can see that the Cucumbers are starting to get pretty tall there. Tonight we took our first real "harvest" out of the garden. Lots of Cucumbers, and a couple really big zucchini to go along with some cayenne peppers, garlic, onions, squash, and few tiny tomatos. http://i60.photobucket.com/albums/h23/lhiannonshee/IMG_20110713_192622.jpg http://i60.photobucket.com/albums/h23/lhiannonshee/IMG_20110713_192633.jpg http://i60.photobucket.com/albums/h23/lhiannonshee/IMG_20110713_192639.jpg http://i60.photobucket.com/albums/h23/lhiannonshee/IMG_20110713_192649.jpg That garden is going to produce WAY more than the three of us can eat. If anyone wants some fresh veggies, pm me.
BrianZ06
Looks like everything took off pretty good. You must have got an early start on planting. We did not even get a tomato plant in the ground this year.

Orion
We planted on May 26th, by the farmers almanac. Brian, we live in a condo, bro. There are lot's of urban gardens around town where you can buy a plot for like 25 bucks for the whole season with free water. If you want more info on it, let me know dude. It's not too late to start growing stuff. Tonight we had hamburgers from beef that we bought from Wendys dad, a cucumber and tomato salad that we grew ourselves, and watermelon that we got at a local farm market. Feelsgoodman.com. That zucchini, btw, is the size of my freaking forearm. Anyone makesome good zucchini bread?
Drewhop
Nice pictures. I may have to see about getting some zuc's off you. Brian you can also do a container garden with little to no effort. And should be acceptable in apartment complex if you have a balcony. (which i think you mentioned) You could also use a topsy turvey https://www.topsyturvy.com/2/Default.aspx?MID=820035 you can buy them at most garden places. You could grow radish/leaf lettuce and maybe a cherry tomato plant if you buy it as a plant that is ready to produce fruit. And still get a good harvest before the season is done. Science Abuse
How are you harvesting already? Did you grow indoors during the winter? My first pumpkins are only softball size, and I was kinda surprised they were that big already.

Orion
Eric, cucumbers will produce throughout the growing season. As will tomatos, squash, and zucchini. In fact, we will probably be out there every two days or so to bring in a little haul. If you leave them on the vine too long, they use up a lot of the plants resources, and eventually they will split and rot. We have a tiny little greenhouse that allowed us to get a head start on our tomatos. We grew them in pots for about 3 weeks in march/april to get them started before we put them in the ground. justinwebb
i grew up in pickerington and my parents had a huge garden(well huge for pickerington lol) like 1/2 an acre. we grew strawberries, green beans, watermelon, tomatoes, cucumbers, and lettuce. Best food i have ever had was home cooked meals from the garden. I hated taking care of it growing up but taught me a lot. seeing this makes me wanna do it again lol
