2pointslow
So i have been debating between the 3 motors, im looking at a cost to power ratio. The ls1 is going to be most expensive right out of the gate, i am looking for about 500 on nitrous. Also would you go built th350 or t56? Car will be an all around performer not just a straight line car. Cost/reliablity and power.... which one will be the most cost effecient in the long run?? AJ
if its an all around car then why would you even consider a auto 3 speed transmission?

AJ
200r4 or a built 7004r if you don't want electronics. 4l65e if you get a wire harness from an auto car/truck with an lsx. not sure why anyone would want something without overdrive if they drive it anywhere. RyM3rC
if its an all around car then why would you even consider a auto 3 speed transmission? This. I'd suggest you'd be silly NOT to go t-56, but a 3-speed auto is just horrible in a daily driver. Would you even be able to make a t-56 work in your car, or would the shifter come through the floor somewhere in the back seat?

Buckeye1647545503
The more power it makes n/a the less you need to spray, The more ci the more power. The less spray you need to use the more reliable it will be. SO buy the 6.
ICEMAN1647545504
ls1tech.com has pages and pages of this stuff on there. You can read all you want.
Nitrousbird
You can likely hit 500rwhp without spray with an LS1, good heads and a healthy cam (plus the general supporting mods).
Littleguy
Why would you want to spray an "all around" car?

Buckeye1647545503
Piss off the world and put an LT1 in it... well hell just put a rotory in the thing then!
Trouble Maker
well hell just put a rotory in the thing then! IIRC a 3 rotor non turbo worked over will make those kinds of numbers.

brent1976
I made 333whp/350wtp on a low compression, heads, and 212-218 cam, through an 80e with a transfer case, so I'm guessing it was between 400-450 at the fly wheel. A 6.0L with h/c/with a truck intake can make 400+whp easy.
Cordell
Buy any of the above motors and save money not buying h/c/i and buy basic turbo, or keep it a cheap used engine and spray it with 150 and make around 450-500.
trix-storm
Having owned both a bolt on ls1 and bolt on lq9 6.0 I would never hesitate to ever buy a lq motor again. It made more power on motor and spray(obviously) there is more material on the rods and it still has a good bottom end, it's not worth it to pay the extra amount of cash for the aluminum 5.7 block, roughly 80lbs lighter. I paid 1400 for mine it was out of a 05 escalade, and had 35xxx miles, looked brand new inside and out when I got it. Look around u can find them for cheapEr, do a cam & exhaust and u will only need maybe a 75 shot to make 500 at the tires. Lol I would still recommend doing arp rod bolts and rod bearings, that way u can spin it out a little more and not worry about the weakest link O and t56 all the way!!! 2pointslow
i found an lq9 for a decent price what are the benefits from a lq4?
trix-storm
It's lower compression, honestly since your wanting to stick to n/a and spray get the lq9 IF it is for a decent price. Lq4- 9.5:1 Lq9 10.5:1 compression ratio.
