September 11, 2001 Let us Never Forget

It's hard to believe we are coming up on the 10th anniversary. It's a hard day for me as I lost people that worked with and an entire account/customer of mine. I remember exactly where I was and how consumed I became for days there after.

Home tonight struggling with wanting to go there for the memorial opening I'm going through hundreds of pics sent to me by coworkers and friends. Some from inside the building and some from right outside.

Traditionally I've posted some shots I've taken over the years, including the towers in their glory and of the Towers of Light thereafter. NYC was a great place to work and I enjoyed my time there. I'm really glad I got to know my friends and miss them still.

For now, I'll post up some composites created. Some pics I'll post are mine, some were sent to me by a friend and one is a most recognizable image from sources I do not no. Regardless, to me they are important and worth sharing as September 11, 2001 is a day that many of us will never forget.

I know this was the "Pearl Harbor" event of my generation.

Indeed.

The main difference being that from Pearl Harbor both the United States and Japan came out better off.

This one, well, we aren't better off, the people who did this (or their cause) isn't better off. Everyone loses.

some of the pictures i took during my 8 days at ground zero. i have so many that i just can't upload them all. we arrived about 1:30am and worked untill 5am when we took a half hour nap then worked until 3am.

we had a cadaver dog with us, his name was max and as soon as we got to tower 1 and the fire fighters saw the dog they took use to where they thought one of their own was. sadly they were right.
