I'll be working in the office from about 1:30 until 4 today if anyone is just out for a drive and wants to see the place. If you want to help for a few minutes, you're welcome to .... There's always some wofk to do.

I passed you coming home from the Alum creek dog park, you were just turning off Polaris in the Tundra. I honked, but kind of late.

I can't make it today, unfortunately.

Okey-dokey. Here's where the hangout stands as of today:

The main room has a couple of good couches, carpet is clean. Foosball table/card table/pinball would go along the far wall, to the left of the door. I want another 2-3 large chairs. Folding chairs can be set-up as needed. Rest rooms, water fountain, and the pop machine are through the glass door.

Frig is fully stocked with beverages. Cupboards have paper plates, cups, utensils, trash bags ..... just the basic support stuff if someone brings food.

The TV will be between the windows, above where the mounting bracket box sits on the floor. From the main room, there is an excellent view of the front (south) parking lot. Cars are only a few feet from the window, and the lights stay on all night.

TV is awaiting installation:

Door mats and floor runners are in place ..... this is the hallway which leads outside to the large east parking lot:

My office is mostly set-up:

Great views of both parking lots

The desk that I'm so picky about:

And the garage as it really is ...... dirty and filled with dirty cars:

Im pretty sure I've got a foosball in storage that Id donate. It isn't anything really nice and might need a little elbow grease, but I think it'd be a good start.

Doc, I might have a DVD player I could donate. I'll have to check out the basement. Wife took a ton of stuff to goodwill so I have no clue whats what anymore.

Thanks for the offers, but I am going to hold off for now. I'm shopping for a nice gaming table with chairs, and if I get that, I'll pass on the foosball idea.

I've already got a couple spare DVD players myself. The jury is still out on the gaming system, but it will likely be one that plays DVD's/blu-ray.

A number of members are on the lookout for the stuff I think would complete the place, and I've let them know about the colors and style I think would look good. It wouldn't be a big concern if this space were strictly for CR, but it has to double as a clinic waiting room, so it can't look like a fraternity rec room. I still have photos and posters to put up and a bunch of little things to finish. After all that is done, then I need to start working on the garage to make room for two loaner spots.

I can also start accepting bikes for winter storage for those who have asked me about it.

That desk is amazing.

This. It's beautiful.

I don't really have anything to donate, though I have no problem connecting and setting up your entertainment center. I have a very complicated and integrated et center myself with a ps3 fully integrated with tv, pc, etc. all connected together and have even done such things for an old job. I may even have some xtra wiring/hdmi, etc.

Wish I could offer more.

This sounds like a huge liability risk

I suppose it would be if I were to start a stunt riding school and use the stored bikes without the owners' permission. Or if I moved the bikes outside for a week. Or if I sold parts off of them.

But I'm not planning any of those things.

Almost anything you choose to do in life will present risk. How you manage that risk is part of what defines who you are. I've taken risks in the past I shouldn't have, but some of the best things I've ever done were because I faced the risks.

I can't be worried about every little thing. And in the grand scheme, offering to store a friend's bike for the winter is a little thing. Big risks? How about telling an incarcerated mobster that you're not recommending parole for him? How about taking on a new patient who's homicidal or suicidal? Welcome to my world. :)

And, sometimes, trying to "play it safe" is the most dangerous thing you could possibly do.

Looks real nice Doc, as everyone stated if you need anything lemme know. I work next door to the dublin goodwill and they get good stuff ALOT. Pm me a list of potential things you'd like and i'll keep a eye out. I agree with Ant with the 360 idea. Im sure enough of us could donate for a blu-ray

I salute you sir. Life is too short to live in fear of what might happen next.

Awesome space. I thought about opening up a large storage center as a 'retirement gig' but then fitting out a large amount as automotive servicing so me and my pals would have a place to hang and work on cars etc. Be following your project with interest...

Thanks for the comments and the gaming vote. Do you know if Goodwill cleans/treats the upholstered furniture to ensure there aren't fleas or bedbugs? That's something I want to be careful about. I'm looking for oversized chairs or recliners. A wingback chair would be good. Most important would be comfort. If it's fabric, something that matched or coordinated with the sofas in the photo would be good. The walls are a light yellow/cream, so cream leather would work, too. No bean bag chairs, small accent chairs, rocking chairs, swivel chairs, desk chairs. A classy wooden game table with matching chairs would work. Tired-looking furniture or chairs with slipcovers are out. I don't mind paying for the chairs, but I won't pay a price that's near the price of new.

Need a coffee brewer doc? I can donate a commercial grade multi pot one that will keep updays to 6servers warm at once but its not really large.

A coffee brewer will be most welcome. Let me know if you need me to pick it up. I assume it's a "pourover" and not one which needs plumbed.

Is that the diesel Mercedes that was for sale on here like a month or two ago in that one picture of the garage??

I did buy it off of CR, and there was a thread: http://www.columbusracing.com/forums/showthread.php?t=83296

but that was in August 2010! It's had quite a bit done to it since then, with many thanks to North End Wrench, WheelMedic, FyrhzrdGT, and especially to Kevin Clifford.

Place looks good and your office is SHARP!!

I'd recommend getting some DARK tint or at least shades on the windows so people can't see what you have in there (unless you want them to see).

You need some car posters or something on the walls unless you want it to look more club/bar, man cave-ish. Good stuff though either way...
