Sorry for the late notice! Anyone interested in showing support for Arshot's approved redevelopment of Cooper Park can attend the BZA meeting tonight at 6pm. It's at the City of Columbus Department of Development building at 757 Carolyn Avenue, Columbus, Ohio 43224.

6pm. Hope to see some peeps out there!

Interesting tidbit in there about the wind turbine. We will be buying a house next year, very likely in Columbus. I'd love to do some alternative energy to supplement in the future but I'm not sure about Columbus codes or laws on these.

There has been some serious discussion about them on COS, and current cost of even small household ones doesnt seemto balance out long term costs, also, if you buy a house in collumbus unless its way tall, most neighborhoods will block enough of the wind to keep it from being efficient.

Before looking up codes or laws, go take a look at a map of wind patterns in central Ohio. The few turbines you see around town are nothing more than PR efforts. The nearest area with winds viable enough for turbines is along lake erie... A tiny stretch of land in Champaign county is very borderline.

Aside from pro wind crap, when is construction/demolition at cooper park set to begin? Years out still? I'm way out of the loop.

Yes, I had a rough idea that wind is probably not the answer in any city, let alone here. I'm just at the general idea stages; wind, solar, water catchment, etc. I just found it interesting that there are no codes governing this yet, and that some guy was trying to put up a 75' tall one near downtown.
