Advanced Armament Corp. debuted this little honey at AUSA. It’s a low vis carbine designed to bring the potency and range of the 300 BLK round into the workspace of the 9mm H&K MP5 and MP7. Those sub-machine guns run pretty quiet, but using a can AAC optimized for this platform, the Honey Badger (AACs internal nickname for the nasty little thing), hits 125db, dry. Not bad for a full power cartridge in a gun that has more can than barrel. There is a second version of the Multi-Purpose Weapon with a longer handguard that covers the can. A fine CQB assaulter’s weapon, the longer handguard offers more real estate up front for lights, lasers and the like.

The MPW runs an AR style lower and takes all standard AR mags. The buffer system was shortened and the lower modified to accept the custom, adjustable stock. At the moment there are only six of these guns in existence and judging from the appearance of #000006 they are all running hard to prove their place on the battlefield.

I'm not really seeing the niche, but kind of want anyways. Nothing too revolutionary, but the stock/upper is neat. Not to mention, it just looks sweet. Rumor has it they may possibly be going into production in 2013. :masturboy:

Jeez, what is it about the AR platform that causes such rampant chambering choice segmentation? You have one for attackers at under 50 yards, one to 100, one for 300 with gusty winds, one for left-handed red-headed blue-eyed male Eskimos with a slight overbite and a liking for Beatles vinyl...JUST PICK A DAMN ROUND AND STICK WITH IT...

Honey badger don't give a fuck what you think.

Looks awesome, I'm sure if it hits the market and the market accepts it the 300 ammo would be made more avaliable.

It's America's rifle.

It's not a damn Kalashnikov.

Having 2 main parts to the rifle allows it to be modular.

There has always been better rounds than 5.56.

Think of it as a muscle car. Same car, different power plant, suspension and transmission options.

It just amazes me that the market has so much room for so many different chamberings on one platform...everything from .17HMR to .50 BMG. Hell, I've even seen a 7.62x25 Tokarev upper a few years ago, and heard of somebody working on their own build for 8mm Mauser!

On the other hand, my last four firearms purchases are chambered for cartridges that were functionally obsolete before Eugene Stoner's parents would let him have a BB gun, so...
