greg1647545532
Track time in CA seems to be more accessible and less expensive. Yeah, but try to rent time in a parking lot. Yeesh.
Tripleskate
Yeah, but try to rent time in a parking lot. Yeesh. This is true. SCCA AutoX costs like $50+/event in SoCal.
dsm_sleeper
Also true is that Max doesn't like autocross.
greg1647545532
Oh, I was making a hardparking joke, not an autocross joke. Because California is all about stance and hardparking.
Dr. Apex
Scott, with the hard top your good to go, just upgrade the brake pads and such. If I'm still in Ohio this summer I will def be at M-O this year, havn't been in 2 years as I went to VIR last year and Putnam this year. I can def help any first timers with what they need to know for tech/registration etc. NASA HPDE is your best bet imo for 1st timers, very structured environment with instructors out with you etc....Max track time will be with Shawn(Torqued racing) and also very friendly group. FourString
I'll probably do a track day this year. I just wish I could fit in my FD with a helmet on. I'm itching to get it on the track, but I think it will end up being the Si...again. I'll be at autocross often though.
Smokey
I just wish I could fit in my FD with a helmet on. I feel your pain. I've come to accept that aluminum seats are your best option.
dsm_sleeper
I just wish I could fit in my FD with a helmet on. It sucks. That has kept me away from RX7's and a few other cars.

AudiOn19s
:funny: at the tall and fat crowd. I always hated being short growing up...don't mind one bit now. Still haven't solved the fat part but that's why they make XL seats
FourString
Well Tinman hit the nail right on the head with me. I'm tall AND fat. I basically have to put my FD on.
FourString
I feel your pain. I've come to accept that aluminum seats are your best option. I'll be looking into that in a year or so once I get a decent job and get established. I'm about to graduate so for now I will stick to tracking the Si. I'm going to be a tight ass for a few years. Irish M5
Looking into doing Autobahn on April 27-29 with the Windy City BMWCCA. It's a 3 day event if you qualify for Friday so I'm looking at what qualifications you need. See http://www.windycitybmw.com/Calendar/EventDetails.aspx?Id=66 Not much info yet but I'll post registration details as soon as I find them. I've two others who will go too if we can drive Friday. Edit: Friday is Full Track and Sat/Sun is South Track. Edited January 7, 2012 by Irish M5 Updated Info...

Irish M5
If Autobahn falls through I'll do Mid Ohio April 20 with the OVR PCA. See http://www.clubregistration.net/driver/event_sign_up.cfm?event_id=3858 If you haven't already signed up for Motorsportreg and Clubregistration please do so at http://www.motorsportreg.com/ and http://www.clubregistration.net It's free and you'll find many events there. Also check out 1010ths at http://www.1010thsmotorsports.com for a local Cincinnati group that runs great track events with lots of track time and open passing with no point in the Red Group. See http://www.clubregistration.net/driver/event_sign_up.cfm?event_id=3858 I signed up for this one with several friends. I know this wasn't the preferred event for anyone, but it worked out best with my schedule. If anyone else signs up let me know and we can meet up there. I've run with them several times but I wanted to try a new track and didn't want to do back to back weekends. You'll have a great time with the OVR PCA. Buzz
Anyone who is interested in getting in LOTS of track time should look into this group. http://www.1010thsmotorsports.com/page/page/5236308.htm I have been instructing with them for years now and have not found a group that will give you more time on the track for the money. To be honest you will be tired of driving your car by the end of the weekend. All new drivers are provided instructors too.

Had to leave as I was out of tires. No problem getting in 200 miles a day!
