POS VETT
This is the first time I've heard that oil change is based on feeling.
Mr. Jones
I use Amsoil Signature 100% Synthetic along with the Amsoil extended interval filter. They recommend 1 yr/25,000 mile change intervals for normal service and 1 yr/15,000 mile change intervals for extreme service in cars that are all of the following: unmodified, in good condition, gasoline motor. My last change in the Buick was at 1 year/22,000 miles. I guess I'm not taking very good care of my car. Now you know!
Doc1647545523
Don't kid yourself, Jonesy. That Buick will still be running long after your Audi is scattered around in heaps of scrap parts.

Mojoe
What I'm not reading in here is the amount of oil the car holds. 8 quarts is a lot for an inline six. And when you're making you comparisons, understand most cars are maybe 5 quarts. The break down on the 8 quarts is going to take longer. I change the oil in my E46 based on my driving. If I worked the car hard, I changed the oil. I think we can all agree that's what we do, or know we should. Average BWM owner putting around Dublin keeping up with the Jone's, no care when the oil needs changed.
motozachl
Just washed my car...you won't have to clean it until it gets dirty again! Buy it now! Buy my car! I have BRAND NEW windshield wipers, you won't have to replace them for another 9-12 months! :gabe:
copperhead
It's also about $60 to do an oil change with magic BMW oil, and probably $300 at the dealer. I wouldn't want to have to do that every other month.
V8 Beast
33k miles, car made in 2001... only 1 oil change :fuckyeah:
zeitgeist57
Amsoil? HOT ROD Mag has had a full-page ad in each issue for the last couple of months. Amsoil is touting that WE are wasting our money using another oil that needs to be changed more than once a year. I'll take my chances.
