OK so since this thread got fun already i have to post pictures.

The day i bought it. The picture doesn't do the purple justice. The last time this bike had been registered was 4 years ago. Last time it had been started i believe.

Started the tear down before i had it titled. Need to see how bad the thing is before i sink more money into it. The wiring is a rats nest but does work.

Last night i removed the plugs, checked for spark and sprayed some WD in the cylinders. Bam! Started right up after just adding fresh gas and draining the bowls of the old gas, this was the second kick! Battery is smoked so no push button, thats getting removed anyways. Running on only on one cylinder though. So removed the carbs and found one of the castings was actually messed up and wouldn't allow fuel to that carb at all! A few tiny drill bits and its now running on two cylinders.

I now know why the previous owner had a fuel line tee into the carb boot. Some form of cheap fuel supply i guess, so now i need a new carb boot. Damn those are pricey. Sorry no picture of that yet, but i will get that later tonight.

Parts have started to roll in.

Good bike to start with, wish my fat ass would fit on one!

Any plans with paint and or accessories?

Paint is going black for now just to get that purple off of it till i can decide.

As for accessories i have a new headlight, rearsets, controls, seat, clip-ons, tiny battery and other misc stuff on order. I will be making some custom exhaust also. If it doesn't have to be on the bike it will be removed, speedo, tach, key, starter, and other misc stuff all being removed.

Long term plans include aluminum wheels and total paint of the frame, but that will not be till late this year.

Nice seeing another oldschool bike build. I just finished the mono-shock conversion on mine. Keep this updated.

Pictures? If i keep the bike long enough it will have a modern gsxr front and rear setup.

I am starting a kz 750 project soon

turn those bar down and do the seat and all is golden as far as cheap and the look

Thanks for the tip. Bars are out because they are steel. Everything i build im obsessed with weight. Hell i go as far as buying smaller tubes for the weight savings. Im buying a new mini battery for the bike to save 4lbs. The Z3 in the background is 2600lbs with the cheap heavy wheels and it will lose another 200lbs before im finished. I will not remove AC from my cars also. My old Evo was 2900lbs which is pretty damn good for still having everything in it, wide 18's and not cutting anything. It was alot of work and sneakyness, Evos are about 3200lbs from the factory.

I'm 5' 11" and 160lbs for reference on the bike.

No update on the bike other than parts are in mail.
