Here's another neat rifle. It's a Type 44 Cavalry carbine made by the Kokura arsenal. This is one of 9000 Series 1 rifles ever produced. It has a relatively heavy front folding bayonet mechanism and a quillon hook for bayonet fencing techniques.

I'm happy with the way it turned out. Already looking for a better buttstock though.

How do you like the vortex scope? From my research they are great for the $$$$

So far I have only put 80 rounds down the tube with the vortex on. The reticle is pretty damn clear ,it's not nightforce or s&b quality, but it's damn good for the price range. I will hopefully start working up some loads for it in the next few weeks so I'll give a little better review on the optic and my overall impression of the gun then. For the price tag though, there wasn't much else that was FFP, mil/mil, exposed turrets, illuminates reticle, and also came with a no questions asked lifetime warranty. I'd like to check out a falcon menace or swfa super sniper too because both of those tend to get badass reviews as well for being cheaper optics.

Yeah, I am not a big fan of the stock you have on there. If are looking for something else, you can never go wrong with LMT SOPMOD stock. It is the best out there.

Vortex Viper PST FFP is well worth the money. I am probably going to get SWFA SS just because Vortex doesn't make the 2.5-10x44 in FFP. I would rather have the vortext. The HD scopes from vortex is pretty amazing, just as clear as NF or USO, but the price is similar.. .lol

I went with the ace stock because it was cheap at the time and because the stocks that I'm considering use an a2 buffer tube as well. Possibly working out a trade on arfcom for a 1st gen PRS.
