LS Notch build

What's up guys? I decided to get rid of my turbo civic at the beginning of the year and start a new project. I picked up an 87 mustang. Lucky for me it already had aje kmember for lsx, front coil overs, cc plates, walbro 255, 8.8 rear with 3.73's. Paint is not the best but the body is pretty clean. Looks aren't everything to me.

I then picked up a complete ls1/t56 drop out from an 04 gto. It now has an fbody oil pan, power steering and ac delete. Oh and a small cam. :gabe:

I just got the motor in last weekend. Lots of stuff to get done still such as wiring(main thing that will take a while) install radiator and hoses, driveshaft, exhaust, clutch pedal to master, fuel lines, and I am sure I will run into more.

I went with dynatech long tubes. Had some fitment issues with the steering shaft so I just had my brother make one up for me. Still very close to brake lines so I will have to move those around.

I have the dash ripped out to replace the heater core and try to figure out some of the wiring.

Made a plate to mount the master cylinder where the harness used to come through for ford starter. Still have to weld a piece off of the pedal to attach it.

Hacked up the center console for the trans to fit. I still had the gto shifter on when dropping it in and forgot it sits back about 3-4 inches farther than an fbody. So I removed that and am looking to find a cheap stock fbody shifter to put on to bring it back forward.

That's all I have for now. Hope to get some more stuff done this weekend, hard to find time between classes and work.

Great chassis, great powertrain, cool build. I'm sure we'll both get bashed by the Gm in a Ford haters, but I'd love to do a similar project. Look forward to seeing it out.

Yeah oh well, haters gonna hate.

FORD LOL

Jk, love notches. Good luck w/ build.

Thank you

Mcleod makes a cable to hydraulic conversion for the Fox Bodies if you didnt already know that

Yeah I saw that but it is expensive. I have maybe 60 dollars into how I am going to run mine lol.

Love this build. Good luck and hope to see it completed.

Thank you and I hope to get it done asap. Hopefully there will be another cbus and clev meet this year.

nice build, any future plans for the motor?

Well I already put a cam in it and gto's came with the ls6 intake. So with the long tubes and that stuff I should be right around 400whp. I figured that should be fun enough for a while in this chassis.

Well, I tried starting it for the first time yesterday, and she fired up! :fuckyeah:

Only stays running for a few seconds, not sure if it gets flooded from the bigger injectors or cause all the emissions bs is still in the computer, but what a relief when it started up!

Will hopefully be getting driveshaft done sometime this week and also my clutch pedal to the master cylinder. Get a base tune next weekend and cruise around until the clutch is broken in. Vids to come!

Edit: Realized yesterday doesn't stay running because the VATS, duh. Will have those disabled this weekend hopefully, and in the meantime get my clutch pedal and driveshaft done.

Posted a video of dyno and a pull with my buddies camaro, but figured I would update this thread. The car is up and running, and tuned. It's been a blast so far and no major problems. :fuckyeah:

It made 401whp/350tq on a mustang dyno. I am happy with the results and just having fun with it. The faded paint and 2.3 badges get me a lot of wtf looks after I pull on people. Love it!
