gbracing81
This happened in the second round very shortly after the other guy red lite. I told everyone the track was hooking better than usual last night and then this happened. I think I hurt it on the launch during the first round when the car went 10.65 with a 1.47 60'. On the launch for the second round it broke instantaniously of letting go of the transbrake. I have a 5500 stal converter but only launch at 4400 to "save" this from happening. Oh well this is going to happen cuz race car. :lolguy: The good part, looks like all I am going to need is the center housing, pinion support, pilot bearing and retainer. R & P look great and all bearing are good. I will have my DS at driveline 1 this morning for a new U-joint and to make sure its still straight. http://i1127.photobucket.com/albums/l622/Gbracing81/IMG-20120517-00540.jpg http://i1127.photobucket.com/albums/l622/Gbracing81/IMG-20120517-00539.jpg http://i1127.photobucket.com/albums/l622/Gbracing81/IMG-20120516-00538.jpg http://i1127.photobucket.com/albums/l622/Gbracing81/IMG-20120516-00536.jpg http://i1127.photobucket.com/albums/l622/Gbracing81/IMG-20120516-00535.jpg

gbracing81
Does any one here any any insight on the strange aluminum section? I dont want to sacrifice any strength for the 18lb loss, but if they as strong as the Pro S then I'm all about it.
AJ
Me thinks the transmission might have an issue as well. You'll find out when you go to drive it.

AJ
Why do you think that kind sir? I have seen 5 either gear failures or drive shaft failures and 4 out of 5 something broke in the transmission due to the sudden change in load then rapid increase in shaft speed. gbracing81
I have seen that also. When I had this 400 built I found the biggest 400 fail part was the second gear planetary. I bought a billet 1-2 planetary for mine and also a billet sprag and drum. Hopefully I will be ok.

Hopefully yes however I have found that when you beef up one area that the next weakest area is the one that breaks. Hope it works out for you but you might also find the next weakest link. New Pro S with a daytona support and a spankin new DriveLine 1 shaft. If you're going to spend the money, spend it right. gbracing81
Took the car down the road last night and everything felt real good. Hoping for clear skies tomorrow night so I can take it down the track. Looks like the tranny is ok too.
