Absolutely my favorite truck there, and it didn't compete last month:

Just a pity it wasn't running better Saturday.

Lots of different vehicles there this time, making it well worth visiting again.

July 6-8 will be the next one. And it looks as though they have the staging wait down to perhaps 30-45 minutes. I'm wondering what the brave lil Viewt would run ....... http://i355.photobucket.com/albums/r445/martyr65/emoticons/confused0006.gif

A 73 year old motorcyclist failed to brake, crashed, and was pronounced dead at the scene. Because he rode through the trap and didn't brake, they suspect he had a medical event such as a stroke or m/i.

He went through the traps at 170 mph. He went off the end of the runway, and his 2000 Kaw went end-over-end until hitting a fence. He had completed safety qualifying runs earlier and was certified to ride up to 175 mph. He died at 9:15 a.m., and racing was suspended for 4 and a half hours.

He died doing what he loved. R.I.P.

Can't think of a better way to leave this planet. RIP
