Tshensley
Im looking to take my firebird to Indy for the LSX fest, but hate the thought of driving it that far with bugs, rocks, etc tearing up the front end. What have you guys found to work the best when driving some distance and still be able to put it on display for a show without trailering? nurkvinny
The guy that flew in from Chicago to buy my Z06 and drive it back made an apt. with some shop on the East side to have a clear 3M (I think) bra applied before he started his drive back. Overkill IMO, but he swore by it.
iwashmycar
Apparently many use painters tape.... Technically it would work, and only costs a few bucks..... downside is you look silly on the freeway, but heck... I have always understood when I have seen some rolling down the road with a blue nose.... Unless it is just some slammed Jetta... get over yourself lol Vince, was he planning to de-bra the Vette upon getting home?? If not, nothing that overkill about it... Though that isnt THAT far a drive A guy on the FJ forum used 'clear' contact paper... not sure about it at highway speeds though. If it keeps tree branches from gouging into the paint it would protect decently IMO http://www.fjcruiserforums.com/forums/attachments/general-discussion/49793d1321196360-cheap-paint-protection-trail-plastics.jpg I have seen the same with Plastidip.... but that would require a LOT of masking on a 'show car'
TTQ B4U
I've seen someone at C&C with a fabric style black bra. Something like the 80's style ones but nicer and cleaner and more like a fabric or something.
93fox
The whole front end of my cobra, along with a piece about 14" up the hood and the mirrors has a clear bra on it. BEST thing ever, considering my car sees alot of road trips and a lot of highway miles. Bugs wipe right off, along with protecting the paint from chips. Worth every penny if you go that route. spankis
A guy took his 99 3000gt to the national gathering a couple years back, and did the whole car in blue painters tape: http://img189.imageshack.us/img189/6932/picture130b.jpg Dude is known for being a goober, so it was mostly a joke but it apparently works pretty well. Green Bastard
I came here to post about the 3m clear bra, then I saw the 3000 gt covered in painters tape. that must have taken forever, but he didn't do that bad. if you look at the pic without knowing, it just looks like a flat blue paint job. PRD2BDF
Went to a car show in my old car and won 1st place and I didn't even wash it after arriving. Drive backwards so that the front end is untouched like a BOSS

I had a quote done for the truck. $900. I has big front. :dumb:
