In 3 weeks Farkas and I are heading west to the 2012 Rocky Mountain Rally in the Viewt. We will be one of 40 teams to start at Pikes Peak International Raceway on August 20th in Fountain, Colorado. Over the next 3 days we'll have 15 checkpoints to find in the mountains and deserts of Colorado, Utah, and Nevada before hitting the finish line in Downtown Las Vegas.

Although we pay our own registration and travel/living expenses, we invite friends to join our team by contributing to our charity, The Accelerated Cure Project. Mahle and I raised over $1,300 for the charity during Rally Dixie, and we appreciate the generosity of the members and sponsors of CR who contributed.

More about the Rally and the charity can be found here: http://www.firstgiving.com/fundraiser/dox/rally-north-america-2012-rocky-mountain-rally

I'll update this thread with pics as the Viewt is stickered and modded for the rally and I hope to have some great photos of the Rockies to post here upon our return. :)

As threatened, I've got photos of the brave little car prepped for the Rally.

Stickered up and ready to rock:

Practicing posing with a large trophy:

They all know who's Number 1:

Cold air intake courtesy of Alex/Boost Performance Autosports so that the Viewt doesn't get short of breath on those mountain slopes and scorching deserts:

E-cutout, because at times, even a tame and toothless tabby wants to roar:

A couple of years of use, and the Clifford Automotive paint job is as sparkly as new:

There's still time to join the team with a contribution to The Accelerated Cure Project for Multiple Sclerosis. Even $10 is appreciated and can be donated online: http://www.firstgiving.com/fundraiser/dox/rally-north-america-2012-rocky-mountain-rally

That's a cool little car, what year is it? Early 90s im assuming the styling makes it look older. Good luck guys.

Thanks! Mine's a 1994 Nissan Micra/March underneath.

Hey Doc, what made you buy/ drew you to the Viewt?

Classic Jag styling with modern Nissan drive train (reliable, low maint)

Whoa, Doc, you never told me this was an option, now I might need one.

That's an interesting concept: there's someone who thinks he might need a Viewt :lolguy:

And for all of you who don't think it resembles a Jag, here's a 1962 MK 2 Jag:

http://i355.photobucket.com/albums/r445/martyr65/Jaguar-Mk-II-3-8-1962-05I7M085716531A.jpg

and here's the Viewt:

And before you say anything, Clay---No, I'm not claiming it's an exact copy in all dimensions, only saying that it was made to resemble a classic Jag.

Aaron tipped me off to an article from just a couple weeks ago in MotorTrend about the new generation of Viewts. Enjoy!

You know full well that my perceptions of what I need are a delusion.

But reading about viewts there was a reference to a "factory built cabriolet" so I had to go to google and have look, I actually do like the look of the cabrio.

I'd never done a side by side that close before with the real car, wow its a lot closer than I thought.
