ForeverMaker
I have some sad news to pass along... my neighbor Drey passed away Wednesday. You may have seen him around at Home Depot in his SS/SC (my old car!) He was a very nice kid and was even starting to help me out with detailing. RIP. Frederick "Drey" Meine, age 19, passed away on Wednesday, August 8, 2012. He was born in Columbus on July 11, 1993. He was a 2012 graduate of Thomas Worthington High School, where he earned a varsity letter in soccer, a sport he played since he was 4 years old. He also played for the Thunder Select Soccer team and made many friends from other schools. Drey worked at Nissan North in Worthington, and he previously worked at Quiznos. He had an ornery sense of humor, but he was also tenderhearted and caring. He had a passion for cars, and he absolutely loved his dogs. He will be deeply missed by all who had the chance to know him. Drey is survived by his mother, Denise (Robert Graham) Meine-Graham, and father, Frederick (Kris) Meine Jr.; step-brother, David Graham; grandparents, Fred (Lois) Meine Sr., Kathy (Gene) Terrell, Dave (Patti) Dawson, and step-grandmother, great-grandmothers, Klara Meine and Marilyn Dawson; Eileen Bagent; several aunts, uncles, and cousins; and countless friends, from coworkers and acquaintances to lifelong friends. In honor of Drey, a memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, August 18, 2012, at Xenos Christian Fellowship, 1390 Community Park Drive. Flowers are welcome, or contributions in Drey's name may be made to Central Ohio Youth for Christ; or to the Worthington Youth Boosters. Arrangements by the SCHOEDINGER WORTHINGTON CHAPEL. ForeverMaker
Actually here is a very nice recent article on him. He is on the right in the pic: http://www.thisweeknews.com/content/stories/northland/news/2011/07/20/teens-plan-aug--2-national-night-out.html I am not sure protocol in a situation like this with sharing information. I do not want to share anything that would upset his family... but the police blotter info is public and with some light googling it wouldn't be hard to figure out that sadly he decided to take his own life. I will be donating to the Worthington Youth Boosters, but aside from that maybe I could auction off an expensive detail or something and donate in his name. Any other ideas are appreciated. Dharris89
He used to live literally 4 houses down from me. My older neighbors used to hate his car because it was so loud. (it always made me smile) I can't believe it. We weren't really close but we exchanged rides in each others cars etc. He was always a really nice kid. I'm shocked. It's really sad. It's a terrible thing and i really feel bad for his parents, you should never have to bury a child. Fred (his dad who i work with) is one cool ass dude too! Can't believe this still and i heard about it last week when it happened. just terrible

The hard part is the signs were likely there. Reading through twitter it seems so. My kids are 6 & 9 and I can only hope we are able to be aware if not involved as much in the future as we are now. Everyone warns us that there will come a time that what we have now will be taxed. RIP to what seemed liked a good kid.
