starkmaster03
The fiance and I are going to Vegas in two weeks. It is the first time for us both. What are some pointers or things that we should definitely do? We do have a car rented and want to make a day to the Grand Canyon.
TurboNova
best way to get around the strip unless you want to walk it all is to ride the deuce, you can get 24hr passes that makes it real nice and you can ride that to downtown (fremont experience) Not sure where you are staying at or what games you like to play, I like playing off strip more and more everytime I go. Places like Rio which is real nice and still have low table minimums for craps or roulette
Dragu1a
there is a bunch of little things to do that don't cost much. watch the water show in front of the bellagio and treasure island puts on a show in front of their hotel/casino with pirate ships and sword fights. also, the fremont experience was pretty cool. since it's your first time there, i wouldn't venture too far off the strip. Richard Cranium
If you're going to gamble leave your ATM card in the hotel room. Take as much cash as you're willing to loose and nothing more. I was there a few years back with some friends and decided I didn't enjoy loosing at the tables. So I took the money I would have donated to the casinos and bought the nicest pair of sunglasses I've ever owned.
Wease
We do have a car rented and want to make a day to the Grand Canyon. Just an FYI: You know that's like a 5+ hour drive one way, right?

El Karacho1647545492
When I went to vegas, I went for less than 24 hours, but here's my advice: -Collect all the hooker cards. You'll know what I mean when you get there. They're hilarious. -In-n-Out burger. -Cactus Cooler...shit is liquid crack and amazing when added to liquor. -Don't stay too long at one place. I typically would get $50 in chips to each place we stopped, play until the money was gone or for an hour or less, then cash out and on to the next casino. -Walk. If you're fat, you can use the exercise. If you're not, it's way easier to enjoy the strip when you can just duck in and out of wherever you want not worrying about traffic. -I preferred to gamble during the day when the table minimums are low, then in the evening I'd either watch people at the high rollers tables lose their money, or I'd find a nice video poker terminal at a bar and tell the bartender to keep the drinks coming. Drinks are free when you're gaming, even at video terminals, so just tip them decently and they'll keep you nice and sauced.
bmwohio
We stayed at Bill's Gamblin Hall and Saloon, which was actually pretty cool. This was the view from our room: http://sphotos-b.xx.fbcdn.net/hphotos-snc6/8116_148234981496_7610239_n.jpg Check out the Bellagio dancing fountain http://sphotos-a.xx.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ash3/8116_148235041496_3754692_n.jpg Stratosphere was worth the trip IMO http://sphotos-a.xx.fbcdn.net/hphotos-snc6/8116_148235101496_1703355_n.jpg http://sphotos-b.xx.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ash3/8116_148235121496_5778817_n.jpg ....Plus they serve alcohol at the top :dumb: http://sphotos-b.xx.fbcdn.net/hphotos-snc6/8116_148235221496_1616442_n.jpg This is some overhead light show in 'old vegas' but I can't remember where it is http://sphotos-b.xx.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ash3/8116_148235381496_612633_n.jpg The Venetian is worth a walk through....Indoor Gondola rides and some shopping inside.... http://sphotos-b.xx.fbcdn.net/hphotos-snc6/8116_148235581496_5795173_n.jpg Other mentions: Open container is allowed anywhere on the Strip :fuckyeah: If you can, go lay by one of the pools for the day (tits all over the place) Hard to go wrong with all the restaurants Ask your concierge about any places to check out, they are usually pretty good Go see a Vegas Show, you can get 'discounted' tickets all over the place. We saw Jubilee.......if you want to stare at topless showgirls for about an hour and a half, go see this show Don't expect to get much sleep, if you didn't wear a watch you wouldn't know the difference between 10pm and 4am based on the amount of people out and about. +1 on taking only the amount of cash you want to gamble for the night and once it's gone, stop! It's really hard not to have a good time, I could have just sat in one spot and people watched most of the time, Have fun!
TheMustangStampede
Ride the Deuce, for 5 bucks, you will pay every time you use the rental when they fetch it for you your suppose to tip. Slots of Fun, nice dive casino right in front of circus circus, but one of the most fun crowds to hang with. The Pirate show at T.I. is cool. The Grand Canyon is not very close. If they offer you tickets after you take a bus ride to see a resort, be prepared to be gone all day as they haggle a timeshare. Watch out for the scams, there is a nice video series to watch they may be on YouTube they were aired on the Travel channel.. The stripper baseball cards. TheMustangStampede
Read and watch as much as you can, the scams change all the time, and you never ever win at three card Monte, if you come past a guy and some people appear to be playing they are part of the scam. http://www.travelchannel.com/destinations/las-vegas/articles/before-you-go-vegas
Sully
I did a day trip to the Grand Canyon in a vert vette. Was a blast with the top down the entire trip. Took ALL day. We left a like 8am, stopped at Hoover Dam, make the long ass drive to the canyon, was there probably an hour, drove back to Vegas and made it back around midnight. It was a long fucking day, but it was fun.
