caseyctsv
I keep trying to convince myself that I can be happy in a 4 cylinder turbo FWD but both times I have tried I have sold them within 12 months. I am happy to have just purchased the vehicle I have wanted for years - a 2005 Cadillac CTS-V. So far I absolutely love it - it is everything I expected and more. The car actually has a few mods - exhaust / intake and shifter. I plan on tint and maybe blacking out the grill. While I love the look of a lowered vehicle this car is hard to get in my driveway already and I like the ride the way it is. The previous owner had the mufflers removed - I love the sound. Huge difference in true duals over my y-piped T/A. It is an LS6 (04 and 05 were the LS6, 06 and 07 were the LS2) I am looking forward to working on the paint - it is clean but could use a couple of passes with a buffer. I may have Andy attack it to get it where I would like to see it and then I can maintain it. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v96/casey02ws6/Sideshot.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v96/casey02ws6/Back.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v96/casey02ws6/Front.jpg

caseyctsv
How much do these go for nowadays? They run 16-25K. The ones at the lower end will have higher miles but most have less than 80k.

EssFo
Nice pick up. Dig against the C? A little black on black violence?
Rotarded1647545491
Nice pick-up! Keep an eye on the engine wiring harness where it crosses from the t-body over the manifolds, they are notorious for melting. Hopefully the rear differential bushings have be replaced. Thanks Scott, this is the one you pulled the history on for me. Rear end was rebuilt in 08 or 09. Has a clean service history and car fax. POS VETT
Glad you are back into a RWD Is the exhaust Corsa ?
caseyctsv
Glad you are back into a RWD Is the exhaust Corsa ? No, that is what I thought too. They appear to be Corsa knock offs and I don't think it has mufflers at all. There is nothing but pipe from the middle of the car on back. The tubing goes from manifolds to cats to what might be a muffler where an x-pipe might be. I need to do some research as I am not familiar with the stock exhaust but this one sounds amazing and is way too loud to be stock.
caseyctsv
Quick google search seems to confirm this is a stock exhaust with "muffler delete" and after market tips. I am not sure however what the rectangular box is that the pipes route through right under the console where an xpipe would be, maybe another cat? Anyone know? Cordell
I bet its a resonator, I'm not familiar with the stock exhaust system though. Look like this with out the mufflers? http://www.stainlessworks.net/products/exhausts-catbacks/cadillac-cts-v-2005-07-exhaust.html http://www.stainlessworks.net/media/catalog/product/cache/1/image/5e06319eda06f020e43594a9c230972d/c/t/ctsver.jpg
caseyctsv
Yep scott - only the middle piece is bigger and based on a couple of quick searches it is a stock piece.
caseyctsv
https://www.google.com/search?q=stock+exhaust+routing+2005+ctsv&ie=UTF-8&oe=UTF-8&hl=en&client=safari#miuv=0 Not sure if that will post right from my phone (image on far left)
caseyctsv
A little more research yielded the answer... It is the stock resonator. So the set up is muffler delete, stock resonator and cats, aftermarket tips.
Mr. Jones
I don't think it is ready for the beetle yet I'm just playing the part of Paul. Awesome pickup, you've got to bring it out to C&C for Clay.
