302Powered
I have a 96 GC that is currently having a no crank issue. Battery is good. Starter relay is good. I get no click or anything when trying to start it. The starter relay doesn't even click. Ignition switch? -Mike
Buck531
Hit the starter with a mallet or a hammer to see if it's jammed?
verse
Jump the starter solenoid and see if it kicks out and spins. If it does then you probably have a signal problem (ign switch or wiring)
Crossle
Mike, do you have a test light? If so, test the small "ignitor" wire, usually a blade connector. Have someone turn the ignition to the start position. If it lights up, you have reference from the ignition. Switch, wiring, and relay are proven ok at that point. Check for 12V at big wire. Only other thing could be a huge voltage drop between the battery and starter, or the starter. It is possible that the starter solenoid is really jammed up and may not click, but not good to assume. Cordell
If the relay doesn't click jump it to make sure the vehicle will crank, then check for signal to relay. Sounds like either a bad relay or ignition switch from your description.
