Ahmadi6490
I've been hearing rumors and looked a little online but couldn't find specific details. Looks like CCW permit holders can operate a vehicle with the weapon in plain sight (seat, dash, etc) AND it no longer needs to be holstered BIG shock to me but for safety I think i'm still going to rock the holster. And I just found out that we can take our firearms to parks and bars (as long as the owner does not have a prohibited sign up)...which might be old news to many I bet gun enthusiasts are real happy and anti-gun folks are very mad  Edited December 28, 2012 by Ahmadi6490

Ahmadi6490
Parks and bars is news to me! I guess it's mostly new vehicle laws and where you can park your vehicle with a firearm in it sorta thing. http://www.newsnet5.com/dpp/news/local_news/cleveland_metro/gov-john-kasich-will-sign-off-on-changes-to-ohio-gun-law http://www.toledonewsnow.com/story/6221323/state-of-ohio-gun-laws-to-change-on-wednesday?clienttype=printable

Radio Flyer1647545514
Starting sometime soon you can also transport rifle mags loaded and for any of you non ccw holders you can transport your pistol mags loaded, not in the gun as well. Spidey2721
H.B. 495 we talked about this bill when it passed the house. big things in it are changes to renewal for chl. no more "demonstrated competency". also changes the way ammo can be carried with a firearm in the car. changes the definition of a loaded firearm when in a car. you can have loaded magazine or speed loaders now. but they have to be in different mechanically closed container. a zipper i guess counts. dont remember if they have to be in separate compartments of the vehicle. you still do NOT want to have any ammo in the same bag as a firearm. you should read up on your own... http://www.buckeyefirearms.org/node/8697 http://www.legislature.state.oh.us/bills.cfm?ID=129_HB_495 it was supposed to be a reciprocity bill. the senate took all that out. remember the 90 day waiting period
nurkvinny
Not a rumor. With your permit, you may carry in your vehicle however you please.
jeffro
Not a rumor. With your permit, you may carry in your vehicle however you please. This is nothing new. The bar thing was instated sometime earlier this year.
1fast5gp
HB495 made it so you can load up your magazines before you go to the range. Now loaded magazine =/= loaded gun.

Mr. Jones
Yup, old but great news. Nice to be able to have it in a reasonable place in a carjacker decides he wants to play what's my life worth anyway.

Much needed bill that makes sense. I'm going to start following Buckeye Firearms Association now also.
Clifford Automotive
Not a rumor. With your permit, you may carry in your vehicle however you please. This is correct. Can't be more cut and dry. I've been pulled over and searched, and had no problems with loaded guns through the vehicle along with loaded mags.
