Radio Flyer1647545514
I took my Kahr K9 to Performance Powdercoating Ohio to get it refinished using Cerakote. I did quite a bit of reading on what product to use to get it refinished in and Cerakote H was supposedly one of the best ways to go. I got my K9 as a police trade in, one of the nicer ones in the bunch I think. I added Trijicon Night sights and took it to them to have it done. I went with Black and Sig Tactical Grey for a two tone color combo. Barrel, guide rod and frame were all done in Grey. Slide and controls were all done in Black. I'm honestly extremely impressed with the way this turned out and their prices were a lot cheaper than others I found online before I factored in shipping. It took one week to turn it around so they do things prompt. I know a few people showed some interest in them in my last thread, tell them Ryan with the Kahr told you to come in and they'll do you up right. Here is what it looked like before I took it in. http://www.columbusracing.com/forums/picture.php?albumid=655&pictureid=6860 http://www.columbusracing.com/forums/picture.php?albumid=655&pictureid=6861 http://www.columbusracing.com/forums/picture.php?albumid=655&pictureid=6862 And here is the after product. http://www.columbusracing.com/forums/picture.php?albumid=810&pictureid=6913 http://www.columbusracing.com/forums/picture.php?albumid=810&pictureid=6912 http://www.columbusracing.com/forums/picture.php?albumid=810&pictureid=6911 http://www.columbusracing.com/forums/picture.php?albumid=810&pictureid=6910 http://www.columbusracing.com/forums/picture.php?albumid=810&pictureid=6909 http://www.columbusracing.com/forums/picture.php?albumid=810&pictureid=6908
Otis Nice
Wow. Looks great man. What'd that run you if you don't mind me asking?
Radio Flyer1647545514
230 after tax and everything. It is pricey but it's supposed to hold up extremely well and with this being my CCW I wanted it to be durable. Personally, it was worth it since I only payed 350 for the Kahr. They did also put on the night sights for me without charging me any extra.
1fast5gp
looks great. I would have gone with moly resin since it is more durable than cerakote. That is what I am getting one of my AR15s refinished with. Cerkote is great as well.

BIGGU
+1 on that looks like a nice carry piece keep me informed if you find another at that price.
Ramsey
Looks great, did you have any prep work that you did yourself? Did you drop off a complete firearm or just take them parts?

Did you drop off a complete firearm or just take them parts? I just walked in and dropped it off. They took it apart and did everything else to it. I dropped off a friends when I went to pick mine up. He disassembled his and did prep work to his before I took it in. He might be able to tell you if they gave him a better price because of it. I'll be giving them more of my business for sure.

I am in no way shape or form bashing your decision and I'm glad you invested in something you want to keep long term but curiosity is killing my cat. Why pay $580 for all that rather than buy a new pistol that didn't need refinished?
Radio Flyer1647545514
The one I got didn't need refinished, I got one of the nicer ones they had in the case that day. I really don't prefer the all stainless look either. A black Kahr K9 with night sights new has an MSRP of over 1k. I don't know what you could find one for in a store new, but from the research I did I was going to be paying more for a black K9 NIB than the route I took. I'm also not paying for the break in ammo either, which is another plus for me.

Ahmadi6490
Dam that came out real nice! But with a hefty price tag, do they have cheaper options? I should prob just look for their website

I should prob just look for their website If you want only part of a firearm done it will be cheaper. You could just take them controls, just a slide, just the frame. The price I gave was the price for everything on the firearm to be done.
2pointslow
How will this hold up to abuse?
Radio Flyer1647545514
How will this hold up to abuse? It's supposed to hold up extremely well. I'll update next time I go to the range on how it holds up. I don't have high hopes on it lasting 100 percent on the ejection port, but that's the only area I have concern with. I'll be using it as EDC too so it'll get a lot of chances to show holster wear. I've already started looking up combinations for my CZ. ross
I'm in a toss up between doing cerakote or durabake myself or having someone do moly resin on my 300 blackout. It's just rattle canned for now until I decide if I'm content with having something more permanent/expensive done.

I don't regret it one bit. I guess a lot of the time on the Cerakote is a 3 day dry time. Can anyone inform me on moly resin and why it's better? Does it cost much more?
