I wonder if that's the same S8 that came in to work a while ago. He had a CEL so I read the code and it was for a downstream O2. I told him he'd probably have a hard time doing it himself (because S8) but offered to at least look up the cost of one.

How hard can it be?

Holy fuck. It's a v10 with, I think, 6 or 8 O2 sensors. I couldn't be sure since the O2 sensors were for certain cylinder groupings and I didn't even have a complete listing of the cylinders among all the O2s I listed. The chance of finding the right one on the first try was about nil, so I told him to just go to a shop rather than start shotgunning parts at the car.

Definitely a cool car, but I wouldn't want to work on one.

That was the D3 S8, which was slow.

The 2013 (D4) Has a wee little 4.0L V8.

Makes you wonder why companies keep trying to make V10s. It always seems like they never quite measure up to expectations. V12s? V8s? No problem. V10s? always "meh"

It was actually during the "great V10 war".

The M5 released a V10 and the S8 had to follow suit.

Both cars now have low displacement (4.0 & 4.4L) Turbo V8's.

They get a HUGE bump in MPG, emissions, and make substantially more torque and power.

Yup. And I know I'll get flamed for this, but even the Viper V10 is a little on the "Meh" side. Dunno, it just seems like they aren't worth the trouble..

How much boost that S8 run? 11.8 is very impressive. Can the RS even run that?

What RS?

The RS4 is a N/A 4.2 and sucks balls.

Nobody has really picked it apart too far yet.

The S8 runs an upgraded motor & turbos vs 4.0L in the S6/S7.

All we know from Dyno's is it's very underrated from the factory.

520hp is really around 580Hp. After a tune, the car should be nuts.

I know this car and its owner.

Well, somewhat.

S8 exhaust sounds like crap in the video. My turbo 4-cyl Solstice sounds better and that's putting it mildly.
