We bought the crv on valentines day, and haven't gotten the title yet. I asked him last week if he had mailed it yet and he said he mailed it the week before. We have all the paper work from purchasing it, can we use that to get a title? Our 30 day tags run out the 15th. and im getting nervous.

So the dealer can issue tags without a title in hand?

Doesn't make cents to me

Yes as list dealers don't transfer a title until its sold. Kinda like floating a title almost. It's a weird process but it does take a few weeks but shouldn't. Take near 30 days its usually 10 tops if they don't drag theor feet.

Just to clarify a couple things:

A. A dealer can not issue a second temp. I mean technically "they can". Just like I could choose to not pay taxes. I would get in trouble if I got caught, and so would they.

B. The dealer can issue a temp tag (1) because you sign a Power of attorney paper. That paper, along with the title (that's currently in their name) allows them to produce you a temp tag.
