I need to get my title converted to a salvage title, they print me a new one right there. I take ownership of a car, new title gets printed in my name right there. Well the wonderful state of TX has to have everything come out of Austin, TX. So you go to your local title agency and let them know you need to transfer your OH title to a TX title. They do all the paperwork and take your title locally. Then they have to send it to the county tax office. Then from there the paperwork gets sent down to Austin, where it takes them 3-4wks to send you your title. Same thing for DL's. You go to the local licensing agency and they do all the paperwork, take the photo, etc. Then they give you a piece of paper with your info and a photo (black and white), and tell you to carry that around wadded up in your wallet for 3 weeks until you get your new TX DL which comes out of Austin.
