Faith in humanity: Somewhat restored

I watched this "punk" kid climb out of his hood rat mobile in traffic to help this very old man who fell off his bike and was trying to get up. I was a few cars back but the car directly behind him honk and yelled at him to get out of the way. The kid flipped him off and help the old man cross the street.

At the same time especially the clip where the guy is in the middle of the street in crutches and people are swerving to go around him and driving past...

I mean seriously nice that the one guy stopped but like 10 others drove right past and even swerved to go around and left him there.

The one that astounded me was the person on the crutches. Mainly that so many people drove past, while some of this is a relief knowing people are still willing to help one another, it's almost a shame seeing how few didn't stop to help :(

But oft, in lonely rooms, and 'mid the din

Of towns and cities, I have owed to them

In hours of weariness, sensations sweet,

Felt in the blood, and felt along the heart;

And passing even into my purer mind,

With tranquil restoration:--feelings too

Of unremembered pleasure: such, perhaps,

As have no slight or trivial influence

On that best portion of a good man's life,

His little, nameless, unremembered, acts

Of kindness and of love.

-William Wordsworth 1798
