wnaplay1647545503
Helping a buddy get one of his trucks up and running. Found a small rusted out section of a metal fuel line. Truck is a 2000 gmc Sierra. Can I just Cut out the damaged section and replace it with a rubber hose fuel line and clamps?
unfunnyryan
Use fuel injector hose, regular may not last depending on the amount of pressure going on. Also use these particular fuel clamps. http://www.delcity.net/images/photos/210602_primary.jpg source: a particular 99 explorer that has had this done to it since 08. Browning
yep done it many times. Some times it last for a long time and sometimes it'll need replaced in a year or two. That was using regular high pressure line from a parts store and double clamping each end. Edit-Those clamps above are cool and I'd imagine way better than the regular hose clamps I always used
Cordell
On a truck with a low pressure fuel system, sure. A 2000 GMC is going to operate at 58 psi and using rubber is a bad idea. They make fuel line repair kits at NAPA, get a good idea of the size and if it's close to any connectors, and get the right parts.
