Mojoe
So I bought one on a kit a few months ago. It worked 2 times and this weekend it doesn't. It's cheap plastic so I'm not surprised. I posting here to see what you guys have used or are using that you like. I would like one with a built in gauge. Pricing ranges from $14-$250, so I need some help here folks.I'm not running a race team. This will be used, maybe 12 times a year, but I don't want to buy another one for quite some time, if ever. Your experience matters to me, so please assist. This is what I have seen and have in mind: http://www.toolsource.com/digital-inflator-2150-p-111885.html Thanks you
criitter7
I have 2 or 3 cheapy ones off the tool trucks. they arent digital but work perfect every time. think I paid 40 or 50 bucks for them. ill try to find a place to get them. the one you linked will work good also. seen similar ones I have one like this but I didn't pay 80 for it I don't think http://store.snapon.com/Inflators-Tire-Gauge-and-Inflator-P649407.aspx
Cordell
I have a Blue Point (Snap-on) that was about $125 iirc, works great, very accurate. Had a basic metal one from NAPA for 5 years or so, never super accurate but it worked, still use it at home.
Mojoe
With the Snap on one, is there a release button to let air out to bring it down to a certain pressure? The spec don't offer and more detail. Though it looks like there is a button that would do that.
zeitgeist57
I bought a Campbell-Hausfeld from Wal*Mart a couple of years ago. It's worked on Cleetus, BMW, van, VW, I've lent it out to neighbors/in-laws to use with their rinky-dink air compressors, and it's been a great $19 tool. Dial gauge, not digital. pressure relief valve so it holds the maximum pressure reading.
Mojoe
Is it this one? http://www.amazon.com/Campbell-Hausfeld-MP6000-Inflator-Gauge/dp/B0007ZJ1IK/ref=sr_1_3?s=hi&ie=UTF8&qid=1382914983&sr=1-3&keywords=tire+pressure+gauge I don't like that kind of fitting/attachment. But otherwise, could work.

Came with 2 different ends whether you want a dual foot chuck or a clip-on type. Has a nice digital display and can be read in psi, bar, or kpa. criitter7
there is no air release button on the snap on/ blue point ones, unless cordell has a different one? I just unplug air hose and hit button to release air pressure

Mojoe
I would think a NAPA one would cover it. Upon going to their sight, they don't like to put prices on things. That's just dumb. Freaking stone age business. Next.

Rocky31186
My blue point is not digital but has an air release button. Been good for 4 years so far. http://buy1.snapon.com/catalog/item.asp?P65=&tool=all&item_ID=649407&group_ID=683717&store=snapon-store&dir=catalog
Mojoe
^^ That's the brass button I see toward the left end in the pic, right?
Rocky31186
Yes. Gauge is sealed inside the glass. I had the first design with the red hose and it dry rotted. The black hose is the new design. Life Time warranty so my dealer replaced it for free.
rl
The blue point digital (tpgdl1000a) one is also a swap-out lifetime warranty. If you want one Joe give me a call.

turbospec29
I have this one from harbor freight. Been fine for over a year, use it all the time. Locks on to the valve stem which is nice and has a nice big gauge on it. Plus it's 90% cheaper than the others in this thread. http://www.harborfreight.com/pistol-grip-tire-inflator-with-gauge-68270.html
Mojoe
I'm a fan of things from Harbor Freight. I feel I went the economic route with the one I have now. Life time replacement seems pretty appealing to me. Coupled with release valve and foot changing options.

I finally replaced the one I lost when my last compressor was stolen, but never had any issues with it other than the gauge wasn't 100% accurate. Gauge is not accurate, and heaven forbid you don't use it as if it's made of glass. (absolutely not durable for daily use) That said, I have one at home and it still fills up tires after 2 years Would buy again!
medium fast
I do semi tires on a daily basis and my Milton brand tire inflator works amazing. I have one on every service truck, and in my shop. http://www.amazon.com/Milton-S506-Dual-Inflator-Gauge/dp/B0002SRL20/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1383435879&sr=8-1&keywords=Milton+tire+inflator
