Fubar231
This is what the OP said (Was posted on a forum, i saw it through bangshift) "Anybody have any stories or pics of unbelievable welding failures to convey to the troops? A very good old friend of the family called and asked if I might weld a crack in a frame of a four wheeler he had bought for his grandson. He'd been riding for awhile before his son-n-law noticed it. Of course was my reply, and I could only wonder if it was in an attainable spot or if they would have disassembled it to where I could access it, would it be greasy? When it rolled into my shop, this is what I saw... zeitgeist57
That's not a bad weld... That China Quad just got some scrapes on the trail and the wound is scabbing over. Should be good to go in a couple of weeks!

Rocky31186
I thought maybe it was Clay welding.
gillbot
Same. Same here too. When I first started I welded an exhaust on my ford festiva. It looked about like that and fell off, luckily AFTER it passed check, lol!
SHIEF
That get done at jeff lutz shop? Oh, no I see the weld made it almost all the way around.
xlr8tn
That is pretty bad and coming from me that's saying a lot. My welding skills suck. I can put two metal parts together and they hold but very rarely is it a pretty job when I'm done. Edited March 27, 2014 by xlr8tn

wagner
Care to explain? Just google search Jeff Lutz and see the thread that comes up on Yellowbullet about the car he "built". EVERY shop makes mistakes, its how they recover from those mistakes that tells the story of how good they really are.
SHIEF
Im curious too, thought Jeff Lutz always made badass cars. No, he doesn't. That 57 chevy wasn't built by him. There's a big thread on YB about a chassis he did for a guy. A lot of things wrong, including not welding all around the tubes, filling in empty spots with jb weld/silicone. But somehow leaving his shop with a chassis cert lol. Ill look it up later for you.

This one? 279 pages...this will take up time I don't have reading about something I don't care about. Thanks. EDIT: Crappy pics start on page 12.
