Qwik Valve oil drain plug

I'm sure many of you have seen this, but I'm also sure there are many who don't know something like this is out there. I have used one on my cars for the last 5+ years and they are awesome. When I work on things I break them, or make a mess. Using the qwik valve takes all the mess out of removing the oil drain plug. You can even attach a bit of hose to the end and drain straight into your desired container. They run about $22. They save me time. I have had them on 4 cars now, and not one has ever leaked. Something like this should be stock on all oil pans, IMO.

I have one on my FJ. I love it. My oil filter is also at the top of the engine with a built-in tray that also has a hose bung under it so I can literally drain everything into a bottle or jug.

The Fumoto valve is tucked up in my skid plates so I dont worry about anything hitting it.

Never be without one again after switching to one on the BRZ.

Aaron, don't be paranoid dude. Draco ran these on an exposed plug for rallyx and still never knocked loose. Hell, if you must, they make a little clip that prevents the handle from moving until removed:

There is a plastic clip too.

Alright, I'll get one.

Too paranoid for these since my plug is uncovered

flat oil pan + drain plug couple inches off pavement = nogo in my DD :(

Definitely need to try these out on some of the more pedestrian in the fleet though. How long does it take to drain a 6 hot quarts with these?

Plenty fast honestly.

There is one with a click on plastic hose adapter which is.awesome. 0 mess. Clip on hose which goes into drain pan.

Flip valve and no spatter or drops on floor.

Saw this a few years ago somewhere and I'm in that paranoid group, don't really want 8 quarts of oil being dumped out going down the road.

Would make oil changes hella easy for me... since the H3 pan when I pull the plug kinda spews oil on to the lower control arm... probably wouldn't even need to jack my truck up.

Yup. Ran it without the clip too, and never had a problem with drips or getting stuck. Every car I own gets one of these on their first oil change.

Oh, when I could drive the BRZ up on ramps, I think my oil change record was 8 minutes.

This is lolzy.

If you manage to get covered in oil taking out a drain plug just take it somewhere.

Oil filter is a different story.

Some people do things in different ways. I know I'm very good at breaking things and making a mess. If you're very good at changing your oil, that's great.

Have you changed the oil in a Subaru? There's no clean way to get that drain plug out with a 20mm drain hole behind it.

This,

can just barely keep up with the deluge from an EJ oil pan.

Yes, I have done quite a few. I'll see if I can get one tomorrow and do it one handed and film in the other.

If changing oil was an olympic event, congrats on winning an event no one is competing in.

I'm not saying I'm winning anything. I'm just laughing people are crying about getting dirty when working on a car. If you don't like to get dirty just simply take it somewhere.
